Ray, keep them coming with the 28. I’ve really liked its rendering on the close ups. Speaking of, Jim great save on the disk, and what lenses on those shots? The ones of the kids are great shots for the subject and rendering.
The food, kids, and hen are all with the 35mm f1.4 ais + the modified TC-16a. The kids are at iso 2500 on the D800.
I'm working Monday, of course,, and I get done at 3pm... totality shortly after so I'll be in the parking lot of my station downtown. Surface streets home that day, along with a huge dose of patience.... . I'm not planning on photos of it.
Unfortunately the camera show ends at 2pm, and I'm off work at 3pm.

Seriously. I am heading up there for the eclipse on Monday. I don’t think I can make it near Dayton though because traffic will be bad.
Yeah, it's quite cool but I always feel some kind of way when it's beautifully sunny during the week and when I need to catch up on stuff around the house it's ugly and raining. Last weekend was hot throughout though, so have to cut it some slack. I just wanted to put another coat of wood protection on.
That's a bold outfit there. Good on you for capturing it in all its glory.
Spending the afternoon getting ready for the solar eclipse tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed it will not be cloudy. Not going to be a total eclipse were I am at, but 70-80% coverage.
Going with the Reflex-Nikkor 1000mm f/11 and solar filter on a telescope mount.
Hope I can get a couple to share.

Good luck with the Sun George, it will be very partial here so I will pass on it, counting on you!
This is likely old news to you. I am very impressed with Noise AI in lightroom.
Went ahead and tried the super resolution function in lightroom, They say it is best for crops, but my goal was to increase the size of my old D3 photos, which are technically excellent to at least 24MP.
So, the magnification factor is not changeable, Lightroom changes the size by 2X linear, 4X in areas, so the 12 MP D3 phbotos become 48MP.
Astounding, there is detail in the 48 MP upsize that I could not see with my naked eyes at 100% on the 12MP photo.
Check it out for yourself, you will need to download the file in Flickr to see 100%, just clicking on the image in a Flickr window does not magnify all the way.
George & Mary, thanks for the comments up stream. George, this is Brunswick Nature Park, I don’t think it’s all that long but there are mountain bike trails here that are popular.

George, best of luck photographing the eclipse, looking forward to your captures.
Cool. Will have to check that out when I get back that way. I looked up the location on Google Maps and noticed Shark Tooth Island not far from there. I used to kayak my son out there years ago when he was very young. And yep, we found teeth too

George, That looks to be a great mount. Did you get a scope with it?

I have an old Meade LX-200 Classic 8" SCT OTA that I got back in 1996 when Comet Hale-Bopp made its appearance. The original mount electronics for that scope went out and spare parts were nonexistent. I got the mount you see here and converted the LX-200 Classic with some ADM dovetail bars. Having this EQ mount makes it easy to have the dual function for photography.
