A couple of B&W from this morning's sunrise. I may have crushed the blacks a little too much, let me know. I was late getting out and missed some glorious pinkish hues in the clouds. 28mm f2.8 AIS.
A couple more with the 500 f8 reflex on the Z5 - some vignetting on the long shot. Converted in LrC
At these sizes sharpness is OK but when viewed full screen a bit soft - I cant improve on focus peaking with my aging eyes but perhaps 1/640 is a bit slow with this lens even though there's no mirror slap.

Inspired by Scott (or George ) I tried something the same with our Christmas tree.
Nikkor-SC Auto 1:1.2 f=55mm AI-ed and Chipped.
@ versions of each, 1 wide open and 1 closed down.
The "sunstars" are not as clear as I would like.
Very nice Chris - did you process in LrC? The chromatic aberration is quite pronounced and it would be interesting to see if "Remove chromatic aberration" under "Lens Correction" would take care of this.

Yes Peter, it’s processed with LrC
I’ll check if this works.

Like the starbursts with the 1.2 stopped down. Wide open, the bg is distinctive I think.

Following on the Christmas decoration theme - all wide open with some of my lenses
If looking at Flickr ignore exif as I always forget to change non USP info! (Senior moments )
The donuts from the 500mm work really well in this application. I would not have thought to use a 500mm mirros on this subject, Peter, good stuff. The 105 f2.5 is pleasing as always.

Last year, George took a photo of an ornament on a tree outdoors that I really like. It has stuck with me throughout the year and I thought that I would try a similar photo and put my own spin on it. I still like George's photo better, but I'm fairly pleased with mine. Please see George's photo here. (This link is posted with George's permission.)

Peter, I tried, but nothing happened. tried it manually as well.
D850 with Nikkor-P.C 55mm f3.5 ai'd micro 27 image focus stack shot the end of May. I posted a grayscale of this at the time, but I don't think I did the color version. A natural holiday ornament of sorts.
