I really, really hope this will be fixed for you in the best way possible Leighton. As you said lucky they found the problem this early so they can find a good solution. I keep my fingers crossed for you!!
Btw, I think it works pretty good with a ring with that lens. It can in some angles be a bit tricky when the zoom falls down to 50. I think the results get better with a ring than using the in-built macro function.
Thank you Kristian, I do too. I was telling George, if I get a new liver, I can once again enjoy some home brew!

Thinking of you Leighton..Get well my friend.
Since I haven't been keeping up with the thread lately I just now had a chance to read the latest news on your health. Hopefully it will all work out fine and good luck.
I just read your posts. Wow. So sorry you are having to deal with this situation. Please know we are all here rooting for you and thank you for sharing with us. Though I am here every morning, I have not posted, liked or logged in as I have been quite busy the past 2 months, but I did have to log in and say "we care"!
There have been some really great images over the past weeks and it is really nice to see Ben back! We are preparing to go on a trip for our 25th that we have been planning for 5 years, and, I think I saw the Df inching over towards the camera bag, so hope to have some images to share. We will be gone for 19 days so the backup drives will be full! I have been to Teton and YS in the spring, but never the fall, so should be interesting!
I received some really good news from my surgeon a little while ago. After his team and the MRI team at UVA reviewed my scan, they do not believe that the lesions are malignant. They are fairly sure it has to do with arterial blood flow following the surgery. I have to go back in three months for another scan. If the spots have not grown, then their diagnosis was right.
Thank you all for your concern and kind words. I’ve said it before, this is a special place in cyber-space.

Was going through my Flickr page and stumbled onto my old Fuji XE1 section. Since we weren't allowing in other bodies back then, I don't think I have shared any of the shots I took with Nikon glass.
One of my favorites. Water dropplet is maybe 4mm across. 55/2.8 with about 60mm of extension tubes and the 1.5 crop factor.

Great to hear Leighton.
Just say the word and I'll beam over some of that brew!!
That's great news, Leighton! I'm breathing a vicarious sigh of relief.
I promised some gear photos, so here are a couple. The new-to-me items are the Fuji X-T2, the Lens Turbo II, the 135 f/3.5 QC, and the 180 f/2.8 Ai-s that replaces a slightly damaged copy. There are some more accessories coming for the Fuji to add to its sexy looks as well as its ergonomics, including a leather half-case and an eyecup similar to the Hoodman that you see on my D800E. The 135 is the first unconverted pre-Ai lens in my collection, and thus the only one dedicated to exclusive use on a Fuji body. These photos were taken with the 35 f/1.4 N on my wife's D7000.
I've been out of the loop for a few days and I'm just now catching up on the thread. I was just about to write a message of encouragement when I read your update from today. That's awesome news! I pray that the diagnosis is correct and that all is well.

yes, very nice Glen. I'm curious as to how that adapter works. It has a an element that reduces the FF lens to a crop lens and it gives you some added light advantages doesn't it - it's not just a bare ring to increase the flange distance?
Kevin, I really like the macros and the water droplet is gorgeous.
Scott, Re the 25-50 zoom - what's it like on a DX body? I have the predecessor 28-45 which can vary a lot depending on aperture. I haven't found the sweet spot .........yet!
