Dean, good to see you still rocking the Bronica and HC 75
I like the results you got with the Portra 400. I just picked up a 5 pack last week. So seeing yours is encouraging

A few from yesterday with the Bronica EC-TL & Nikkor HC 75/2.8. Portra 400
Self-scanned with a D810 & 60/2.8 ED using Valoi gear.
The 75/2.8 HC has really nice bokeh I reckon. Unlike other medium format systems the lenses are able to focus quite close which a big bonus too.

Yeah, the Bronica is a really nice camera. The focus screens we got from Rick really make nailing focus simple ... and even the unreadable shutter speeds are etched in (green for go!) . Would be nice if she was 500gm lighter though
Portra 400 is my favourite film stock especially on medium format. Kodak Gold 200 on medium format is also very similar ... physically a very thin neg though.
Tbh, I think a lot of the end result boils down to processing software. The processing piece of the self-scan chain was always the weakest link imo (ColorPerfect, Nikon Scan 4, Silverfast, Vuescan etc) but Negative Lab Pro fixed all that I think. It's the best by far. V3 is due out soon which I'm looking forward to trying.
Edit: While I included Nikon Scan 4 in the list, I do really like Nikon Scan 4. The output isn't as spot on as NLP, and the editing tools are limited, but Nikon Scan 4 always seems to spit out beautiful "filmy" looking scans, especially with chrome film. But ... you ned an ancient computer running and ancient OS if you're using Mac which is a PITA. Might also add that while DSLR scanning is convenient and quick, there's nothing quite like the scan a dedicated Coolscan produces using Nikon software
I'm part of a Coolscan FB group and there's a couple of guys who sell refurbished ones. One day, some day ... I'd love to get a 9000 ED. A guy named Stephan Scharf even sells 3D printed neg holders for it that are better than Nikon's originals.

Finally a photo that shows the end of the rainbow. I was at the end of rainbow at a Mobil gas station in Fowlerville, Michigan many years ago. It drifted over us as we pumped gas with tiny sparkling sunlit droplets of water that would swirl as I and the customers dragged our hands through the air. The colors slowed changed as it drifted.
Must of been fun to witness. If THERE really was gold at the end, you'd of known it.

I have not shot with MFNG for a bit while. So, I took out 55/1.2. It is still quite a joy to use this lens. Cross posted from Z images thread.
Beautiful and serene shots from the broken camera Andy.
Leighton, unique end of the rainbow shot. Having followed some of your story though these pages, I'd say you have your own pot of gold with incredible value.
Beautiful glow and framing for the Kingfisher, Scott. Like how you let the highlights blow out in the first shot, adds lots to the atmosphere.
Enjoyed the Portra colors, Dean. Maybe my project this week will be trying to get some Portra look in LR.
Good capture of the stream energy in the selection of shutter speeds, Glen.
Nice first shot with the 55, Luka. Good to see you here.
Wow. Just looked at these on my large monitor. Nice set!

On Flickr, you can also tell the difference between the image #1 and #2 when you look at the plate on the pole. Image #2 was exported out of LN at the original size and #1 was at 1200 pixels on the long end. This is not the first time I've noticed a problem with sharpness when posting here. I wonder if Fred is doing something in the background to save bandwidth.

George, Thank you so much for the comment. I am impressed how 55/1.2 can produce. It is quite different from the modern Z lenses, like fhe50mm /1.2 S, but it holds its own with its beautiful rendering.
