Thanks for all the comments on the thread and those that reached out directly! Some amazing folks in this community and I truly appreciate it. What a great group of people, photographers and friends
to you all
George, I think the ability to scope out other camera shops is a real plus! You never can have enough gear. Best of luck on whatever decision you make.

George and Raphael my $ .02 is that when life deals you options that upset your way of life its no fun.
In 97 I was 51 and that year saw Clintons 2nd term and their policies got a little weird to say the least. As Rick Nelson said it was time to leave. I was eligible to retire and did. I looked at my net income and compared that to net retirement income that did not have Social Security deduction 14% and other items and learned it was doable when commute, lunches and dry cleaning was no longer a factor.
From road trips I know Atlanta can be a bear to cross so I guess if your new office is north and/or east of Atlanta the trip to Raleigh is a nice drive. Raphael. Join the million of Californians and come to Florida. No state income taxes and hurricanes are really something only celebrated by the news media.
Thought I'd embrace the wacky 665nm IR colors this morning. Fired up an old workstation with older software, plugins, and custom Photoshop actions I wrote years ago when I was asked to illustrate an ASD children's book. After building so many computers for my kids, and recently for myself again - I am still amazed how well old hardware still performs. D850 55mm f3.5 ai'd micro

Thanks and agree with you on that first one. Type of shot I often see and try but hard to carry it to the image. Well done.

AdaptedLenses, nicely done, I like where you placed the focus point on the bloom.
Glen, a pretty showing for the 28-50, I especially like the cloud and reflection in the last one. I had one back in the film days to pair up with the 75-150, I guess I should have kept it. I nice two zoom setup from 28-150, add a 20mm and it's pretty good coverage at f3.5, lightweight, and all sharing a 52mm polarizer.
Serge, your persistence pays off in waiting for the light in Edinburgh. Is everyone in line for the museum?
Last couple from that one morning last week downtown. Both 75-150 Series E.
Here are a few more IR photos from Bald Mountain to keep things moving. The first three are from the 24 f/2.8 NC, the fourth is from the 85 f/1.8 HC, and all are from the converted XT-2 with the Lens Turbo II focal reducer.
I put the 55mm Macro in the D3 last weekend and discovered something I have not experienced before in my short journey of manual focus lenses. The lens can barely focus at infinity. The green dot is a right at the point of the infinity hard stop. I have not experienced this with the Df, and I put the lens on the D3 because Df sensor needs a clean but I don't remember where I put my cleaning kit when we moved. Something I want to rectify this weekend.
Nevertheless, it was a good light day, unlike today.

I have not put it on a scale, but I am guessing the pack weighs in about 30lbs. But not all photo gear. Now you have me curious and I will put in on the scales when I get home.

Lovely place and great shot. I like how the fallen tree imitates the waterfall. But perhaps the best thing about it was that there was no one around
