+1 on the ceramic treatment. Switched a couple years ago and never looked back at wax again.

Raphael I recall my C3 brakes really giving me a fit. They were all replaced with stainless and I recall using the GM recommended special brake fluid. One other thing in the 70’s it was a performance car until the gov’t mandates reduced the HP and they had them all sport 15 MPH crash proof numbers. Yours pre-dates these “improvements.”
The C3 Vette is an icon and yours looks really sharp.
I’ve given up on wax products and now I am using ceramic coating which is simple to apply and lasts 10x longer with more protection. I just did a Tahoe which is like swabbing the deck of an aircraft carrier but the wash, clay bar and ceramic coat only took a little over 2 hours.

Thanks, nice shots of Toledo. I remember visiting 20 years ago, imagine you could shoot for days there.
Shooting for days would be easy and lots of fun.
The largest change over the years is the absence of artisans performing their demascene metalwork at their shops and side streets. I was told all work s now performed in a small town 5-6 kilometers outside Toledo. The demascene creations have become quite pricey.

Thank you George and Rafael. Interesting about the close up lens, Any you recommend? I have the Nikon 3T-6T but they’re odiously not big enough.
Don't need a secondary lens, just put the 180mm 2.8 ED on extenders, like thee PN11, or the M2, or the PK13, there are quite a few out there for low prices.
I really like the old K set, sells cheaply and is very versatile. here is one in e-bay, I have two.

Ken, George,
Thanks! I waxed three cars recently with a recently purchased large buffer, The RAM first with a high quality wax, it was a lot of work, ran out of wax and the local little shop only had Mequiars ceramic, so I bought with some hesitation. The C3 and a Kia people mover were done with the ceramic, I was surprised as to how easy that was, and it does not stain plastic trim. Glad to hear of your positive opinions about it.
For the C3 I did use stainless clad calipers and had the system fill with silicone DOT 5 fluid which prevents corrosion, the car is not driven hard.
Thanks Serge - your nice pics bring back good memories : I spent great days in the Parador of Toledo, a fantastic hotel at the top of a hill with a breathtaking view on the city - jeeez it was 15 ou 20 years ago....
I recall using silicone brake fluid from GM but I don’t recall it being called DOT 5.
With regard to ceramic coating! Try and approach a professional detailer to see if they’ll sell you some. The professional stuff is great. I just bought a 16oz bottle for $18 and its 10x the volume of Maguires. I’ve been using it since 2015 on vehicles, the metal on firearms and camera gear without issue.
BTW Pat Morita would have to come up with a new work out for the Karate Kid because it is wipe on and wipe off …. really no work at all.
/K
