That reminds me of the road from EAFB to Rosamond, where the gulls have probably arrived en masse to partake of the shrimp in the lakebed along the road. CE crews built a Nessie and a Bruce fin to install in the water when it got high enough.

We were finally blessed with substantial rain is San Diego, perhaps too much elsewhere.
Plants are happy, the sky very clear, and the sharpness and contrast of the 10mm OP gets it all in.
Next purchase will be a Z7II to get the most of of these sharp lenses.
I answered in your other thread, but it's not hard. The DOT is your friend.

How hard is it to focus a Nikon d810 with manual focus lenses that range from 70 mm to 135 basically.
I kind of like the old school manual focus but how hard is it to do on a DSLR that doesn't have focus peaking or anything else? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

You go around hey, Serge. I love it. The X-E1, 28 and lately the 16mm seem perfect for your travels. This Palace looks so fresh and so clean.
Hi, Siphiwe:
Madrid is a very clean and seems the vast majority of the historical structures have been renovated. It is a vibrant and young city with many crowded bars, tapas and restaurants. The Spanish capital is an impressive and fun place to visit.
The 16/3.5 and 28/2.8 are my favorites on these trips but also pack the excellent Fuji 18-55 zoom but cannot post photos with the latter.
Getting around seems to keep my blood pressure at college age levels.
Colin, Not sure what you’re saying since the location is 82.68* west or (-) of Greenwich I think it’s correct. East and North are + signs and West and South - .
Per Google:
“Elevation. Latitude Longitude. Latitude Longitude. 27.46921 -82.68621. 5 meters (16.4 feet). Calculate distance from Cortez to another city ...”

Ken,
That sign shows -82.68 deg W?
Somebody has mixed up the co-ordinate systems. E/W or +/- but not both together.
I am saying that it should be quoted as either 82.68W or -82.68 but not -82.68W.

My wife found out I didn't get any of her dinner rolls at Christmas so she made some of them again. No Pepitas, Sunflower, or Sumac this time, but she made Nigella, Sesame, Poppy, and a multi-seed topping. They were all delicious! Nikkor 35mm f1.4 ais + the tc-16a
Plus the multi-seed bread I have a slice for breakfast every morning with cream cheese and cayenne pepper.
Samy,
I skipped about 30% of the dishes that day - it was just too much to even sample a bit from each. I did have a small piece of the Fig and Rosemary Focaccia, and the Cardamon and Orange Croissants she made, but I didn't want to pop like a tick - so I ate just right that day.

HOW did you miss out on those rolls before Jim!?
Jim those rolls look like they are worth popping like a tick for Fig and rosemary foccacia, and cardamom and orange croissant sounds like good choices to go for.
Getting away from Baltimore and down south to DC. These steps have been there all this while in the Georgetown area and somehow I never made it over to them. They were featured in an iconic scene in the movie The Exorcist. I hear it was based on a real life story about exorcism. Not sure about the steps being part of the real story though.

If taking landscape/buildings/static objects use live view with the zoom feature, you can easily zoom anywhere on the frame for critical focus.
For regular photos/street photography I get good results with the focus indicator, on my D810 I have to approach from far to close and as soon as the focus indicator light is steady the shot is in focus. On the D800 and D3 I had to do the opposite, approach from close to far and as soon as the indicator was lit the shot is in focus.
