Hey all! Glad to be back at home and happy to report that my buddy made it through surgery with flying colors yesterday. He's got three tough months of recovery ahead of him but he's up to the challenges.
Well since everyone at the market posted their shot of me , Samy an Leighton I guess I'm left with my perspectives of the fine day it was for Robin and me.
The first shows the excellent results that Leighton (well I mean Barbara) had for the day. Completely SOLD OUT. The second shot shows "clearly in focus" of who was doing all the work, the third captures Samy's arrival. Needless to say I took some liberties in the PP.
As said before, Leighton thanks for a fine day and a fine lunch.

Moving on from Gili Air to Bali, the island of Gods...
Starting up with some b/wŽs. First on is from the road near our hotel. There was some serious construction work from early morning to late night. They were filling those bags with cement powder with a shovel and then a few other workers took the bags on small motorbikes carrying it to the construction site on a narrow path mde of concrete.

Glad your friend made it through surgery. I know what lies ahead for him.
HereŽs one more from Gili, fresh out of LR 30 shot standing pano (36 from the start, a bit cropped...) Still i didŽnt manage to fix the horizon curvature. IŽll have to do some research. I thought it got pretty cool anyways
back from the Sierra Nevada (early due to enormous snow piles and raging meltwater creeks, even though the photo opportunities with such scenery were pretty amazing). So what we did is go straight from California to Road America in order to grab a day of vintage racing with vintage lenses.

Filter wavelength? Are you going for the deep b&w 830nm filter?
I think that is where I will be heading next because I often need to work hard in PP to get those black skies with 720nm. Gives me an excuse to hang onto the 720nm D80 too.
I wonder how your Nikon rangefinder lenses will cope - hot spot or not?
Looking forward to your future IRs George.
Well my IR conversion plans took a detour today. The LN- body I ordered from KEH to send off for conversion came today DOA. Will not power up. So it will be going back tomorrow. I may just go full spectrum on my X-T2.

Sorry to hear about that. It will come together one way or another.

Thanks to everyone for the recent likes. Here are a few more from my recent trip to the Rocky Mountains. This was my first visit to Colorado. What a beautiful state!
I primarily used AF lenses on my Nikon D610, but these were all taken using a Fujifilm X-E1 with Nikkor 24mm f/2.8 AI.
Reagan - I just need to get the lie of the land.
The XT-2 is your main camera? So you've no objection to other brand cameras.
But you wouldn't put a nikon lens on the Fuji?
And the reason is because.........that would be 'lens gendering'?
Have I got that right?
Kristian - love the Bali shots. That pano is awesome, don't know how you do it. The scarecrow seemed a bit shabby, hard to believe that works. I thought you had to make more of an effort to have it look like a person.
But recently I was using it quite a lot in France, even though it is a really beat up version
I have noticed, as I guess many of you have too, that there is a slight vignetting on my pix from this lens.
I forgot that I had put an NC Nikon filter on the front .... great .... but ..... the thicker older filter and the fact that the thread is really messed up, means it has given me a small problem.
So the filter is off now !!
The aperture ring is a bit stiff, not too bad.
But I love the serial number, and the fact that when I got the lens it cost me next to nothing !!
Steve
Nikon camera - always Nikon lens
D810 + 105mm f1.8Ai-s

Another pic from the French Alps at the Col du Lauteret cafe .... where a group of female cyclist had stopped for the obligatory snap shot !!
Reagan might like it .... it's got women in it .... I hear he likes a picture with women in them ....
These girls are a bit strong though ... they ride up big mountains ......
Anyway .... all in all .... a bit of fun !!
Steve
Steve - I'm a cyclist and I'd happily spend a holiday riding around Burgundy, or Tuscany - but I'd be doing it for the food and wine, no way I'd get into the lycra and climb the alps. Were they French?
