Forgive me for these, but I'm sensing I'm about to lose Tom, my 14 year old cat. Lost his sister Jerri just about three years ago in August of 2019, the same day I wound up in the hospital for six days...
If I bring out a camera, he's right there posing, and will yawn like crazy too, just for the camera.

I'm not sure what to say, other than I'll be thinking of you.
Thought I would just let you see a couple of pix from the area
Out in Tayvallich on the Loch Sween is a fish restaurant and bar to die for
A couple of pix of the place.
Plus (please forgive me) a picture of food not taken on Nikon ..... phone shot
Nikon shots taken with 25-50mm f4 sold to me by a member who shall remain nameless Thank you my friend.
I know it was a moment of madness .... but I am grateful
It had no ears on it when I bought it, but I soon sorted that out. A London dealer had new ears to spare

The storm has passed all is well and here is Robin’s text to the kids”
Yes, we are fine. We are geographically in the center of the state so unless it is a Cat 5, we don’t worry too much. Our utilities are underground. In 30 years I can only remember loosing power once for a 2 hours.
I looked out the window & saw a 4’ cactus laying on the ground. The excessive water likely helped the roots loosen. Our front door trellis is suffering the same issue but still standing. Our neighbors flowering bush/tree snapped off.
I see lots of devastation on the news. It reminds me of hurricane Charlie. Lots of suffering both physically & mentally. Coastal living has its challenges.

Jay,
Last image looks like an 800mm f5.6. I don't see a single gimbal on any of those long lenses (maybe the last one)? I feel so much safer, and have way better balance - plus ease of movement using a gimbal. You just point and the rig stays put - no locking screws.

They all look pretty much the same, in this case it is a 400mm f/2.8 that this fellow - a sherpa!- was setting up for his client. It is sitting on a Wimbly gimbel shown at an unfavorable angle atop a rather anemic tripod.
My 600 f/4 looks about the same and I too have the Wimbly. This makes handling a breeze.
My only regret is I haven't invested in someone who would set my rig up and carry it so I could pretend I was on Safari.
