Last week I finally picked up some MF-lenses and went to the "Keukenhof" to see the flowers.
It was a beautiful day with a lot of tulips.
I didn't know there were such a lot of different species.

First of all, it's great to see you again! Love the set, especially the last one.
Great to see you back and with awesome shots too. The man who gets the most out of those lenses with the Z cameras. All of your lenses are chipped, right? So full function and EXIF info.

Keeping the flower theme going. From a walk this evening. Was going to go into the wood, but I got a late start and was getting dark so stayed in the field.
A shot of bachelor button and a couple behind the scenes with this set up.
File this odd lens combination under the category - if you have it shoot it. Don’t let it collect dust
Decided to give the Bronica Nikkor 40mm/4 a try. It has a close focus distance of 10.6 inches.

I love how the ones in the top right look like they are taking flight.
For a first time visitor, I'd recommend a week so that you can see everything on display in the museum. It's that detailed, and lots of little things that most people overlook. Right now, there are four buildings.Being tripod friendly is a big plus, too.

Laura - always like your museum shots. It would definitely be on the list of stops if I every make a trip that way. And being able to use a tripod is a bonus for sure!

Love it. I was just thinking the same thing that Ani said.
Great tulips Chris! Agree with Leighton, that last shot is special. I love how the tulips are so densely planted together at that location, a couple tulip areas I've hit close by have the tulips spaced far enough apart that, for a photographer at least, always leaves unattractive brown dirt in the picture.

B&W worked well with this. What do you think of the 105 micro?
Really liking the 105 f2.8 Micro. I take it out quite a bit, that flexibility to go close is great. Now I just need to do an informal comparison with the 105 f2.5 AIS at regular distances.
That bachelor button shot is outstanding George. The melty dreamy backdrop rocks. I spy a PD tripod, if it's good enough for George maybe I should think about it :-)

Ray - looks like the wind settled down enough to get out? Really like the 105 micro shots and like the last one in black and white the best.
Thanks, the wind settled down enough to at least have intermittent periods of stillness. Forecast says a stretch of 5 straight days of sun, now just to break free to get out to shoot some, though playing with longer focal lengths in AF and trying my hand at songbird shots tempers productivity with MF lenses.
George The 'modern' sensors with their high dynamic range are much easier to use in a situation like sunlit sea fog. What used to take careful multiple exposures is now done with no bracketing!
It is a game changer in a backpack for hiking. Only thing I had to modify is adding a panning clamp, but that was minimal weight addition. Fully extended it is not as stable as a full size tripod if there is a strong wind, but expected that going in. But 4/5 extended and it is good to go. Set shutter to 2 sec delay mitigates vibration.
