Very creative Kristian! Love it, though I'm trying to figure out how the spots of water are circular, are they on the lens or just luck of the draw with the droplets in the middle of the air?
Always enjoy stories to accompany the pictures, Doug.
Peter, the middle shot represents the steepness of that portion of the climb well. I can almost feel a stumble coming on.
Quite the sunrise, Ken. That blue seafoam makes the clouds pop even more!

James, weirdly something seems to be getting lost in the processing of your 85mm + TC16A pictures. All are showing as 70-210mm f/4 at 145mm.
Please ignore me. Seems like the Exif viewer addon in my browser is responsible.
I dropped my 16mm f/3.5 AI Fish Eye from the boot of my car to the concrete.
There is s lot a play on the focus ring but apparently the image quality is not affected.
Sar, felt my heart drop as I read your words, thankful that the lens is well! Good to see some pics from you.

My biggest fear with this lens. Guess that is why I somehow now have three of them...

D850, AI 16mm f/3.5 Fish-Eye
This is very sad news. Great news that it is still getting the job done. That will gradually erase the memory of the fall.

Thanks!!
No drops on the lens. My son used a spray bottle and sprayed it above the focus area right before I pressed the button on the camera, used the in built flash too. Not an easy task to time, took about 50 shots, could use one or two For smoke I used a special kind of firework (dont know the name in english), it generates only a little sparks and smoke...Lucky the fire alarm didn't go off . We had a lot of fun.
Siphiwe,
It is caused by the TC-16A, because two connections have been cut to the NEC CPU in the modification to make it auto focus the manual focus Nikkor 85mm f1.4 ais. Usually it reports as a 145mm, 70-210mm, or even a 50mm - plus the f-stop is never correct anymore.

It's the reason I have 2, my other one got dropped and no longer focuses to infinity

I should start looking for a second one, because even though my copy is perfect, I can't find it in my gear boxes and bins. Things are a bit disorganized here with house remodel and moving overlapping for months now. The lens is likely in good shape in a safe place, I just don't know where
In August of 2018 I was deep into renal failure, but had made the transplant list. Meanwhile, kittens were springing out of my collapsed in ground swimming pool. I had lost much of my vision due to massive dosages of steroids, but had recovered a good bit of it when I convinced them in November 2017 to take me off Prednisone. This last liter of Momma cat's had a kitten of each of the four colors in her Tortoiseshell fur. Blond (Simon), Ginger (Marnie), Black (found him home, name?), Fiona (Gray muted torty) would congregate at my bedroom slider waiting for me to come out and play. It gave me something to look forward to, and get my mind off of me. They chased each other around, and dared to get closer and closer to me. This group of cats helped me to heal. All these are shot with D800, the 135mm f2.0 ai (green dot practice - the keeper rate was terrible)
Momma Cat and her last liter
Black kitty (every liter momma cat had, 6-7 of them, had one identical long hair black kitten)
Fiona (though she tested negative for any feline disease, her vet shots killed her)
Simon (though he tested negative for any feline disease, his vet shots killed him)
Marnie (same vet as Simon - no reaction vaccines)
Though all these cats were feral - not one of them had any fleas, ticks, ear mites, or any of the serious feline diseases. The father (Georgie) was a massive long haired Ginger that roamed a lot, and was badly battle scarred. All of them befriended me. I seem to be catching the photo bug again. According to my photo database - I shot just under 17,500 photos in 2021. More than the previous 2.5 years. Most of them are of these feral cats. I'm not back, but I am heading that direction.
