Rafael - love that dark moody cactus with the 8.5cm ..... but my New year's resolution is to resist such temptations. So far, in the 3rd week of January, I'm holding strong.

(that is a gorgeous sample of that lens, as usual)

If it got up to 50 deg F I would be out and about in a tshirt and shorts to take pictures. 17F in NC? It won't last.
Yes, it's crazy how that works, when I was in my beloved Manchester and it was 18 degrees C/64 degrees F in their so-called summer, which is a winter temperature for Sydney, they were all out in singlets and shorts whereas I was rugged up and freezing. Still, kudos to George, I would never go out biking in the snow.

Same concept, different focus plane. Cropped in slightly to eliminate blurry corners from the Nikon 3T diopter on the 75-150mm Series E.

Cool, I like the mystery to continue :-).
If you look at the posting before that it should give a pretty strong clue.

Well, I could make out what looks to be the reflection of a house in what appears to be droplets.
close-ups of water/ice on a car window?
just a guess

You got it, Doug. Water droplets on a window. For the black and white shot I focused on the window pane itself, resulting in the house being OOF and just smeary all over. For the color shot the focus was where I could get some of the house reflection in focus; the varying drop sizes meant that only some of the reflections could be in focus, but I think that's part of the appeal for me.
