Ben,
First one is our 10 year old blue/lilac-point male - in prime position on the bean bag in front of the fire.
The second is our ~3 year old chocolate-point female atop the coffee table.
I guess the hexagonal distraction is accentuated becasue of the LED lights on the Xmas tree.
Those hexagonal shapes are distracting but could be put to better use under a different scenario.

I think she's magnificent, she doesn't look like a chocolate point in that pic, anyway she cuts a majestic figure, almost manages to divert attention from that bokeh. I'm going to experiment to see if I can get the same effect. Bet your 40mm doesn't do that.

Good idea. Probably worth a quick shot using the 40/2 before the decorations get packed away and the tree gets removed.
Contest is 9 rounded blades versus 6 straight.

Cold front has a different meaning up here. Finally got winter, and darned snow, just had to wait until January 3rd. My cats are loving life since they don't have to step outside, they watched from the window while I toiled away clearing snow
Got about 30 minutes of the conditions I wanted for IR, but it was really cold. A 100 degree view of my back yard from my deck - shot five lenses 17mm Tokina rmc f3.5 ai, 20mm f2.8 ais, 28mm f2.8 ais, 35mm f1.4 ais, 85mm f1.4 ais. and made panos of my pov. A couple samples
Nikkor 20mm f2.8 ais
Nikkor 35mm f1.4 ais
Today was even more cold - so I shot a couple cats
Seems a little silly to be jealous of Samy, Leighton, and James for the snow they have. Here it is just cold and drab, if it’s gonna be cold anyway give me some snow!
Joining Mark and Andy with graffiti themed shots.
The Vaults section of Leake Street, London - a legitimate place for street artists to show their talents.
A tunnel under Waterloo Station that reeks of weed and paint.
Quite a hive of activity and splendid color.
