Another from Coalcliff Beach Rock Pool.
Do they have these in the States ? They make a swimming pool on the rocks, it gets topped up by waves at high tide. There's a famous club of people who swim in the one at Sydney's Bondi Beach called the Bondi Icebergs. The idea being that it's a safe place to swim away from the surf, rip tides, sharks etc. A lot of them have a shallower section for toddlers.
Also, the Sealife Aquarium in Sydney is in the harbour and waves enter the top of some of the larger shark tanks which I found interesting.
My daughter's Xmas gift was 4 nights in an Apartment Hotel in Brisbane so I may venture out at some point for a pic or two. Just me, AC and cable TV. Heaven
Took out the 500mm f8 mirror lens on a 27mm tube yesterday and tried James'stacking method by gently changing focus thru 4 shots. Processed in Ps from Lr ( a new method for me) and got quite a satisfactory result.

Merry Christmas everyone and stay safe in the New Year
I forgot to add that this was on the Z5 not terribly good resolution but I think the lens has always had limitations which are shown up on high res sensors.
Reagan's pics with the 20mm are also an indication of the class of the Z5 sensor.
Other than the loss of smell and taste.... so far so good. Worked 57 hours this past week...and I survived. I know that getting the shots and keeping a mask on is what helped me keep it as a very mild case. I'm going to have to up my game on masks though, with omicron raging around, since I see anywhere from 400-600 people per week and most of them are unmasked...

Merry Christmas Laura and I hope your feeling much better now!
Thanks Peter. A very interesting story about the Graaff's Pool too. I just love stuff like that, looking up the history of a place or building that I have visited and finding out more about it. A wall built to shield the world from the sight of a disabled person swimming that turned into a wall for naturist gay men to hide behind while swimming/sunbathing !
I watched the Beatles doco "Get Back" yesterday and today. Did we establish the other lens being used in addition to the 105/2.5 ? Looked like the NKJ 200Q to me, scalloped focus ring and shiny silver end?
Interesting that I was born in Wavertree in Liverpool, my mum was born and raised a couple of streets away from Paul McCartney and John Lennon's childhood home on Menlove Avenue, nearby is Strawberry Field. Always use to stop off at the Chinese Fish and Chip Shop on Penny Lane for the best Ham Fried Rice in a silver tray.
Here's the map of where the Fab 4 were born/childhood homes, my Mum's childhood home, Penny Lane, Strawberry Field and my birthplace nearby. Mum was born in the early 1940's, same as the Beatles (John 1940, Paul 1942, George 1943, Ringo 1940)

Laura, great to hear that you are back well on your feet and back at work! Keep the precautions and get the booster shot soon as you can.
