MF Experts, need some help with this lens, what are the lever, slider and switch for? The lever seems to be like a timer but unless its held all the way to one side, no light gets in and the second it moves on its timer for the lever to move back, no light. The slider seems to control the aperture to the selected stop and the switch doesn't do anything.
Thanks!
Mark
What is the lens? A Brontosaurus leaf shutter?
Looks like it has a manual shutter with a selection of flash sync settings (switch), the lever and slider would logically control the shutter, one would likely cock and the other release? There would have to be provision for holding the shutter open so you could focus in the controls. You would:
Open the leaf shutter to focus, then close the leaf shutter, make sure the leaf shutter was cocked, open the focal plane shutter after selecting sync delay and leaf shutter speed, trigger the leaf shutter and hope the flash went off, close the focal plane shutter.
Repeat until you ran out of film or took the perfect shot.
Perhaps this is somewhat automated using the more modern electronic body,,,
Haven't gotten to shoot a lot recently, but had to take out the new to me Series E 28mm. Don't hate it but the lack of edge sharpness was pretty evident. Still, finished result isn't bad at all IMO.

It was the Nikkor Q 105mm F3.5 For Bronica S S2 EC and I released it was leaf shutter through some googling, hence my removal of the post, lol Not sure that is going to be a very useful lens for me, although I did manage to get some snaps out of it last night. Just more fun making it all work. Thanks for the reply, its helpful!
In general I am waiting on the 135. Also waiting on Helicoids. So far the 50,75, 105, and 200m all look near mint. Once I have the set I will share some pics. I will reposts the Z7 Kit for sale this weekend along with the D500 and maybe even the Fuji XT4 which I am not enjoying very much so far. That will leave the DF, D850 and the GFX 50SII.

Andy I think the last version is more dramatic - you've darkened the foreground and lightened the background no?
This is the 135mm f3.5

Yeah, just used a radial filter to brighten the middle, took the rest down a bit from memory. The edit added a fair bit of grain to the sky but I kinda liked it so I left it.
Is that woman's expression from realising you found her after she had been hiding behind the tree ?
Be careful, you're gonna get arrested !
Also, wtf is going on with her leg? she seems to have tree bark for skin
Ben,
Is this literally the embodiment of "cutting off your nose to spite your face"?

Mark - yours has the same 7 sided bokeh as my nikkor O 35mm f2. My new 135mm f2.8 also has that 7 sided bokeh. This is just a bokeh test of the 135mm f2.8 - I was surprised to see this on this lens.
Just fooling around, the best test shots with no sun in frame I could get from the 8mm f/8, 7.5mm f/5.6, 8mm f/2.8, probably all at f/11, can't be sure with the Z6.
Processing is copy paste.
The f/8 has a poorly defined edge. This lens fits the whole frame, as the Z6 sensor moves it can cut into the circle.
I'll pass on the booze though. I may attempt a walk today, just around the neighborhood, to see how much stamina I have left. Need that strength to get through the Christmas rush when I get back to work.
High for today is supposed to be 61°F/16.1°C

Wow Mark that is a lot of booze for Kansas. It probably should be delivered to Laura to help get her through the next week or so,
Processing August and a trip through the Pine Ridge Indian reservation last August.
Picture ONE will prove what dangers I went through to get these snaps. Mere COVID uh-uh. a plague infested area!.

Oh Jim, Jim, .....I'll say no more.
Andy - I don't know what she was doing. She was very very colourful. I toned down all the colours in post because it was too much. That left leg looks like that because of the shadows from her bag strap, I think. The photo makes her look a lot older, she was only about 18 or 19, her friends were standing about 10 feet away but she was over by that tree by herself doing whatever it was you see there - I'm sure no-one would arrest me for that - not that I know anything about Italian laws on the subject.
Leighton - that's a nice pic, you don't seem in a rut, but anyway, what happened to that long lens you got us all to chime in on? When's that coming?
