Late November I noticed that the tulip tree I planted about 25 years ago had produced huge quantities of javelin shaped seeds. As I blew leaves large piles of seeds were left behind. I was thinking about vacuuming them up with a shop vac - when the Squirrels, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Nuthatches, Chickadees, House Finches, Gold Finches, Juncos, Downy Woodpeckers, Tufted Titmouse (Titmeese?), and Sparrows had a party. When I think back to the three pencil sized saplings I brought home in a Burger King soda cup 25 years ago - little did I know how the two surviving saplings would grow together into one 50-60 foot tree supporting squirrel and bird nests - nor how so many would perch and be fed by the tree. I wish I could say it was foresight, but I really am surprised.

I am having a small dilemma with reconciling my first SLR camera. I really swore it was an FG, however the history says that camera didn't come out until 1984 and I know by personal history I sold that cameras in 1984 when I was in the Army after having it for a 3-4 years. When I look at the FE it has more dials on top than I recall my first SLR having. I know I was using a 50mm Ai lens on it. I remember the little beep when it was in focus. I remember some sort of green LED indicator when looking in the view finder.
Ahh, I wondered about that, was reading about those today, so the helicoid adapter is needed, 10-4, got it! One of the ones I ordered will have one. Are they needed for each different lens? That will be a challenge if so, lol!
No, you will not need one for each lens. But some do come with different focusing scales. For example mine have scales for 75mm, 80mm and 100mm. If using wider lenses, there were conversion tables in the owners manuals that you would have to refer to. Only needed if you were zone focusing or trying to figure out depth of field based on your focus setting. Nothing really for shooting on modern adapted digital. With all this fancy focus peaking, and zoom focusing
I have a Bronica EC TLII film camera I use mine on the most.
Here is the conversion table...
Ok, I am all set now, many thanks, I was able to get a few helicoids one 75/200-50-75 and a 50-75 in mint. Probably just leave them on the lenses.

This will be fun!

If you can find the H.C. version of the 75mm it handles flare better than the P or P.C
But regardless with all of them if you are shooting with strong light in the frame or to the side of the frame, use a hood, index card, hat or all three

Looks good. Let me know how you like the 135 and 200. I never found one that was sharp. Have not tried the 105. I have the 40DC, 50OC and 75P and HC. The 75HC is the best of the lot in my opinion. But I mostly use them on 6x6 film. On the Fuji may be different.
Dean and Samy shoot them too. Maybe they will chime in.

We have a huge tulip tree in our backyard right at our deck. It is such a mess between the flowers falling in the spring and the seeds in the fall. But worth it for just the reasons you mention. Bounty for the squirrels and birds.

It's the 105/2.5, the early silver/black sonnar design version.

Yes, its the 105 - I thought it was pretty readable from the photos.ck
Another photographer (Ethan Russell) comes in early in episode 2 shooting an all black Nikkormat (yay!) and, although I do not have a clear shot of the inscription on that lens, like with Linda's, I think it's also the two-toned 105. Judging from what Jackson shows in the film, he was shooting the photos of each member that end up on the cover of the "Let it Be" album. It was "the" portrait lens of the time, right?
There are so many iconic photos shot with that lens. Such a classic lens. I think I'll re-read the 1000 Nights piece on the lens again.
