Possibly one of my first MF Nikkor lens shots. Circa 1973 with my new to me (used) Bronica S and the 75mm lens, my ever-ready unpaid model Flash (named so because he could run fast). His look of alarm is due to the incredibly loud "KERRRRTHUNK" sound the shutter made. Flash was use to east German Exa, Exakta, Argus, and a Kodak Retina CIII 35mm cameras with much more discreet sounding shutters.
D610 IR and 50/2 H lens. Stellar performance for $30.
So good I bought an HC a while back. Need to try it next.
Should have run a side by side comparison today but didn't have my thinking cap on this morning.
Colin,
Awesome! You got that black of sky and whiteness of foliage with the 720nm IR filter? Do you set a
manual white balance - what degrees kelvin?

Samy,
Thanks for the comments. Leland aka Fishtown was a good source for smoked fish (white fish, salmon, trout, and chubs), stinky cheese, and wine. Later, they added "The Dam Candy Store" - which my kids forced us to visit at least once per summer.

I thought it looked familiar. That's Fishtown - I have been there once.
Sammy - yes, named after me. Although to be fair, I think only one famous person came out of Nazareth and it wasn't me. I've never been to Nazareth.
Leighton - Satisfy me? Even at this stage you're dodging responsibility, .......ah but this is the circle of life. You blame me and I blame Curtis. Nice bokeh play, and nice pp too.
Colin - the black sky with that gate and the bell tower makes it look like the set of a horror movie. Love IR.
Luka - Sensational! That little boat almost covered in fog and menaced by that blackness in the sky. You've outdone yourself. The shot is great and your pp has taken it to another level. Talk about telling a story, you've got me worried for those people.

Thanks Jim and everyone else for the comments.
Yes, it is a 720nm filter.
The camera has a custom preset WB that was set by the conversion company. LR shows it to be 2000K.
With 720nm I don't get the black sky out of the box. I prefer to have the sun directly behind in order to get an even sky tone.
I twiddle a few sliders in LR to taste, usually bringing down the blacks and increasing the whites.
This image also needed a gradient filter to underexpose the sky. Really simple to isolate the sky from the rest when using the luminance range mask feature.

Ben, no no, I can't take such praise, but thank you. Disclosure. It was on a serene lake and really foggy, in the original shot pre-pp, I could not see much of the boat. In the process of lowering mid, and software doing their black magic, it turned it to this. Background is actually beautiful forest beyond, which you can not see at all. So no worries about those gone fishing. I did have fun doing the PP on this one though.

Luka, the isolation you captured with the boat in the fog is spot on. A simple case of less is more. NICE!
Leighton, Thank you so much. Luckily, there was not much to see, I almost gave up on taking the shot as I could not see anything. So nature cleaning up the clutter part of business for me.
