I hope you won't regret this move Chris. I know how much effort you put into finding those lenses which was doubly challenging since you have such high standards for appearance and performance.
That said... maybe you can work out a deal with Rafael, who seems willing to let go of a very rare lens, the 80-200 f/2.8 AI-s. He is a fan of older lenses as well. Inquiring minds...
The quest is a great part of the fun for me.
I'm not using these lenses, only the chipped multicoated lenses and those I have all from 20-200mm.
Don't do like I did last night. Took out a lens that I was going to post for sale, put it on the Df to make sure everything was good since the last time I shot with it. Said to myself "this lens is quite nice, I should use it more". Back in the cabinet it went.
A trip to see Reagan may be in order for me. I need help.
Here are my final two photos from the Alberta badlands, showing broader views of the location in which I was able to freely explore and get most of the more intimate views I posted previously.
And here are a couple more shots of the mountains of western Alberta, the second of which shows the appropriately named Castle Mountain just outside of Banff.

Buddy, just for the record, there are approximately 33,000 deaths in the United States each year through use of a firearm, two-thirds of which are suicides. There are about 700-800 accidental deaths and 11,000 homicides. As Ken notes, the Second Amendment of the Constitution has been interpreted to mean every person is entitled to own a weapon. And as Reagan observes, in some states a person is free to carry the gun wherever they wish. Clearly, Germans have taken a much different path regarding gun ownership.
But we're talking about camera lenses not guns. Honestly, this topic sits close to religion and politics as subjects best left to other forums. Opinions are deeply held. In my opinion, differences are best respected rather than debated.
I totally agree, the subject is lenses, we can discuss other topics like cars, single malt scotch, fires, ewes, guns, etc, but with measure.
We are not trying to promote anything, just comparing ideas and attitudes in different parts of the world.
I understand your concern Curtis, the discussion has been balanced and centered in the photos, this is is a civilized forum, we respect each other and understand there are many topics where we will disagree.
Some of us grew up in the farm, hunting doves and keeping snakes and coyotes from getting the chickens.
Well said Rafael. We can with ease respect one another despite what may be differences. Honestly, those differences often enrich this thread and at times shows up in folks choice of subjects for photography. I've learned a great deal on this thread simply from reading what folks have to say on a variety of topics as well as from what they share in terms of images.
Colin brings us single malt Islay Scotch whisky and you bring us hooch...
Just sold my 55 f/3.5 the other day, and loving its f/2.8 replacement for sure. The helicoil was regreased at some point in time according to previous owner. Checks all the boxes for my needs
Hope everyone is having a good week. Fires, storms and heat aside.
Was going through some of my vacation photos and thought I would post an alternative view of the 400mm/2.8 AIS lens. Was messing around waiting for sunset. Not sure if I was bored, or one too many cold ones Just kidding.
Taken with the Df and 35-200mm/3.5-4.5 AIS. Sort of a sunset selfie reflected off the front of the 400mm
Well, the merciful thing happened last night when my mother in law passed. She, like my dad who passed in January, was in monumental amounts of pain at the end, so it truly was a mercy. Now we are dealing with selfish siblings who do not want to honor their mothers last wishes and do what they want. It's disgusting.
Sorry Kevin about your loss. Hope you and your family recover the best way you can.
Another NMFAS virus infection (the price was excellent):
This beauty (late pre-AI version, same optics from que QC, more volumous body than the ai version) is coming from New Zealand!
Now the torture to wait the ridiculous Brazilian Post delivering it to me...one month or more...
Kevin, Robin and I send our sympathy to you and your wife. Times like this it's best to recall the good and wonderful things your wife's mother brought into your life. Support your wife and don't worry about others and their agendas for nothing you can say or do will change a thing.

Beautiful Jose. I'm almost embarrassed to say I bought one of these believing I'd bought a Q.C. lens... 135 f/2.8 for those trying to catch up with the conversation. I can always blame the single malt Scotch I'd been drinking the evening I pushed the Buy It Now button for the error... It is in fact a K lens.
Here is the lens... the middle of this set of five. These were my 135mm lenses at the time. I subsequently sold one of the 135 f/2.8 Q.C. AI shown on the right, then added two 135 f/3.5 Q AI lenses. I seem to be especially fond of this focal length...
