We have a very tame Knysna Turaco - previously Knysna Lourie - who we have called Larry the Lourie who is very habituated and who pops in for half a banana most days.
The sun was low in the sky when he arrived today and I snapped this portrait with the 300 4.5 EDIF +TC14B combo.
Thanks Ken. I was busy shooting last night, but AF instead. I did bring MF glass but didn't use it but once. Now to nap before work, may be Wednesday before I attempt processing more from last night's show.

Great posts indeed!
Samy the boat from Switzerland boggled my mind thinking it was in Baltimore ... but then I read it is out west! Nice capture.
Jay great Tampa shots
Laura your D200 inside the USAF Museum does a fine job.
Jose brilliant shots.
Raphael the desert blooms are terrific.
Philippe, I'll add to what Scott said great composition and colors.
Yesterday I took the Df and the NOCT to a small but pretty impressive car show. Tried to get different type shots. Hope you like em!
Some good images as always the last few days. Phillippe, really like the color of your second image above (parked bicycles).
Where I live we are in the part of the spring season where the trees have bloomed and the leaves are just starting to emerge. So nothing lush green yet and not very colorful but I did want to get out and take advantage of the great weather. So, I took a walk down to the pond this afternoon. It was full bright sun and not a cloud in the sky. I decided to try some of my rangefinder lenses to see if any of them "hotspot" with a 720nm IR filter attached. Going for high contrast black and white in the final converted images.
These are nothing to write home about, but it did verify that the very old W-Nikkor·C 2.8cm/3.5 worked well with the Hoya R72 filter. One of the advantages of EVF is being able to set the black and white emulation in the camera and see the results as you shoot. Shot with the Fuji X-Pro2. Framing around a shortleaf pine tree.

Larry the Lourie pitched up again this morning for his banana fix. Afterwards he perched on a stick in the bush so I had to shoot him again. Overcast so gentler tones.

Gorgeous! Love the look. Acros simulation or basic B/W?
Thanks Kevin. I shot ACROS Red in camera to get the look I was after, but did do some slider adjustments in Lightroom. I forgot to do a custom white balance shot first

For those that use the Df, can any of you list any drawbacks that it has. I am considering getting one.
What George said. I love this camera. Don't use it in the studio, though I could, but rather as my personal camera with manual lens. If a version II is released, I will own it also. If not, I will likely buy another copy. The only real nit for me is the placement of the strap lugs. Wish they were on the side as I like to use a camdapter plate and strap. Do love the files and use of manual lens on this body. I bought this used and it included the 50mm AF kit lens which is as sharp as a tack. This camera for me meets a sweet spot with it's file size and D4 chip paired with the Expeed 3 image processor.

I love these George. Just my cup of tea!
I was in Rome for the weekend and shot IR exclusively with an AF zoom lens on my converted D80.
Plug: I just posted an IR panorama of the Roman Forum over on the "MF Nikon glass shooters shooting AF" forum.
Fresco detail on the Columbarium (or burial chamber for cinerary urns) found at Villa Doria Pamphili, Rome ~1st century AD. Museo Nazionale Romano, Palazzo Massimo, Rome.
D610 + Nikon 75-150mmf/3.5E hand held, ISO 1600, f/8 at 1/125s. 18% crop (4.4/24Mp).

Thanks Colin. I keep toying with the idea of getting an IR converted body but so far have satisfied my IR itch with the Hoya R72 filter. If Nikon ever releases a replacement for the Df, maybe I'll convert my current Df. Or I guess I could always thin the herd of my Nikon lenses and get something
