George wow it’s been a while! Welcome home! I agree with your commentary regarding SNOW. Something not seen here in Florida, and as a matter of fact there is not ONE snow plow in the state. I do recall commenting once that Washington DC was the prettiest city in the World when freshly covered in snow.
First, I want to thank Colin for donating the images used in this test.
Here is what I did testing the Nikon TC-201 teleconverter. I took 1800x1200 pixel slices of
four images from Colin's D610 which has a resolution of 6016 x 4016 pixels. I adjusted all
four for exposure, highlights, tone, and made them as close to matching as possible without
using any sharpening. The area of the frames used was top of center, and right of center -
none were directly from the center of the frame. I then stacked them in photoshop in pairs
of TC and non-TC of the same scene, and cut through the top image to get an image showing
TC verses non TC in the same image - plus a post processed sharpened versus no USM comparison.
These are 100% resolution slices, and if they are two large let me know and I will reduce them.
My opinions:
Center to edge sharpness falls off on the 180mm f2.8 a bit. Highlights bloom from some
overexposure, and the air from Colin's vantage (quite a long distance) to the subject is
distorting things a bit. But here is the important thing. If you uprez the non TC the lines
are equally sharp to the with TC lines. Harder lines might make discerning the difference
easier, but I would be surprised if it amounted to much difference. It looks like the Nikon
TC-201 is really good at preserving image quality.

Here´s from a walk me and my son took a while ago.
Train station in Malmö is quiet nowadays. All shots taken with Nikon D800 and the Nikon 35mm f/2.0 ais Triangeln bnw by Kristian Hagelin, on Flickr
Cool, thanks for reading that plaque, and yes that second one needs some love too, or that rust is going to get it.

It is no longer a functioning mailbox, although it has been repainted as it is located in a somewhat gentrified tourist area. There are others around in less salubrious condition, this one below is just up the road from me.
The plaque on it reads: This posting box was in service until 1988.
Because of its historical nature it will remain at this site.
The nearest posting box is situated 120 meters east.
The 105 1.8 Ai-S arrived today I took it for a little walk in the park this afternoon.
Ok. So I got out to take a shot. To the front porch that is. Going to be one of those weekends. On the bright side we still have electricity. At least for the time being. Looking at the utilities map, we are in an "island" that does. Not fond of the ice storms. Give me snow any day.
Staying with the black and white theme on this page. Shot with the Leica Monochrom and Nikkor 8.5cm f/2 LTM

Looks like you got some winter too. I've been waiting ten years for lakes to freeze. Hoping to be able to ice skate some tomorrow
Nice shot!

Nikon F100, 28 f2 N, Tri-X developed in HC-110. Left the film guide out of the lab box and realized too late. This is one of the better frames that turned out.
