Spotted a small gallery that was displaying the works of Steve McCurry. The exhibit is at Madison Avenue and 81st Street and runs through December 18. I was excited about walking in and taking a closer look but it is by appointment only.
I am so sorry for your, Lya, and the rest of the family's loss.

It is with immense sadness that I communicate the loss of my 71 year old but other wise healthy brother Jose Alfonso Batlle to COVID, he had the best of care under difficult circumstances. We could not visit but spent many hours talking to him at the hospital.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, who did a fantastic job of raising his children and was still a great influence on his grandkids. His barbecues and fishing expeditions are legendary, his orchid garden beautiful.
Foncho was a member of a very large extended loving latin family, present across continents. He is sorely missed by many who felt his home was ours.
Here is a very old snapshot of much happier times, he is the one dead center with his then girlfriend, Lya, now wife of 47 years. On the side my sister Carmen and myself.
Thank you for your support during these trying times.

Andy, Peter and Raphael:
I, too, am sorry to hear of the loss each of you have recently experience. We all here pray for their journey and for your family's strength at this difficult time.
This pandemic is a long way from over
Warmest wishes
Doug

I’m so sorry Rafael. I have lost 20 friends to COVID-19 and with each passing I get more and more angry. May he rest well.
That is terrible Kevin. If I lived in the US or the UK still I'd be very angry too right now. Incompetence on an epic scale and or the prioritising of profits over lives combined with ignorance and selfishness.
So sorry to hear this. Words don't really seem to be sufficient. Please know we here are thinking of all of you and your families that are facing these losses. Stay strong, and stay safe.

I have not been regularly reading this thread lately, so it was truly sad to return and read in the last few pages of multiple losses.
Peter, Andy, Rafael, to each of you condolences. Words seem so feebly inadequate at these times. Even the most deeply felt well-wishes can feel like empty platitudes in the face of profound grief. May each of you find strength and solace in the days ahead.
Numerous members of this thread expressed their concern after my parter died 2 years ago. I did not expect that; I was truly touched. I will not forget that kindness.
