While mossing around the house with the 200mm medical, the egret landed, rushed to get the 800mm, on the way out I did not see the bird behind a tree and ended up scaring her off, this is all I got at 5.6.
While it may seem that I've been away for awhile, I have actually been lurking in the MFNG "shadows".
Here is a contribution from today:
When high pressure finally comes to mountain valleys of western Montana, and the skies clear, instead of calm sunny days, we more often get freezing fog from inversions. If you want the sun and warmth, you have to go up above the cloud deck - usually around 5,000 ft, or so. However, the hoar frost can be a real delight.
This is after 2 days of not so dense freezing fog.
Perhaps, because it can get up close. I've not even had it for a week, but you may be right, I haven't tried hard enough since I have other options that I see better with.
More 55mm. I was lucky with these pictures from yesterday as soon after, the skies cleared and changed the ambience. All we have now is burn, burn and more burn.
Never been wild about this plant, this being the first picture of it, but as always, my wife's choices are spot on. It seems photogenic, or is it the 55mm magic? No idea.
Z7 + FTZ + Nikkor 300mm f/4.5K ai'd ED (non-IF) hand held, some 5-6m away; ISO 1250, f/5.6 at 1/200s; 44,4% cropped (20/45MP). 3 focus stacked images using the great technique of Steve Perry: &t=645s

Thanks Rafael, so that will be the next one on my list.
Do you have the 2.1cm as well? I know that one doesn't work on a DSLR (only mirror up, too dangerous), but it could work on a Z camera.
Either the 8mm f/8 or 7.5mm /5.6 will work with Z6/7 .Prices are up and the least I have seen is $700 for a decent copy. Always curious about the 2.1cm but never bought one as it seems overpriced to me. There are two versions of the 2.1cm, hte lip thickness around the mount may interfere with the FTZ, the second version's lip is thinner. Also one may need to remove the tab which keeps the lens horizontal when mounting to F cameras, it is held by screws. This is speculation as I have never bought a 2.1cm.

I've never seen the 8/8.0 on Ebay, but the 7.5/5.6 is even more expensive overhere. From €800 - €1600
I'll stay away from the 2.1cm
Ektachrome E100, Gibellini Bellatrix 810 with Nikkor-Q 300mm f9. Developed with Arista E-6 kit.
Only difference between the slide and the scan is that the scanned image is less vibrant. Looking through the slide against a light source is a delight.
This is an old covered bridge in the town of Utica, just north of Frederick, Maryland.

What Colin said, and besides it makes for good photo-ops
From google: Most of America's covered bridges were built between 1825 and 1875. By the 1870s, most bridges were covered at the time of construction. The original reason for the cover was to protect the bridge's trusses and decks from snow and rain, preventing decay and rot.
Here’s a novel shot posted from Cocoa Beach this morning. The rocket is Falcon 9, Spacex “Dragon” capsule carrying 6.5 tons of cargo to the International Space Station. It’s the 21st refill mission.
It went off at 11:17AM EST. CAUGHT with the Z6 and the 180ED. Posted is the screen shot of the Z6 taken with the iPhone.
We were 18.33 miles away according to the flash/bang method to find distance.

Planning on buying or selling a Df soon?

Yes, seems like a good option for MF street shooting. Have a couple of other priorities first though. You're welcome to PM me if you have one available.
