Stalactite organ, I remember that from my last trip there! I really wish I had a Noct when I visited
Samy the NOCT really would have been a second choice as it 58mm was too much lens for the close quarters the narrow path through the cave took you were forced by rails or rock to stand on. My best choice would be a 28mm or a 35. Also the cave was humid and Covid required masks making the viewfinder difficult and that forced me to go to the EVF, something I swore I’d never use.
Most serious or professional cavers have a lot of contempt for that organ. I being a fellow in the National Speleological Society and a recipient of their cave conservation award find no joy in an organ that thumps on million year old formations to make music. But there are weddings there so it brings in revenue.
We have just had a fantastic week camping on Magnetic Island (12km off the coast opposite Townsville, 4 hours south of Cairns, Pics to come.) but have been keeping up with the thread and liking Colin's flowers/butterflies, Leighton's Farmer's Market pics as usual etc.
Before we went friend's of ours had a yacht warming as they have just bought a catamaran, picked up on the Gold Coast, sailing up the coast they stopped off in Cairns before continuing on up and over Cape York to Weipa, a mining town on the west coast of Cape York in the Gulf of Carpenteria where he works.
Shots like these are what made me fall in love with the 55/1.2. On film, man, what a beautiful lens. Digital is no slouch, but film really brings out the gorgeous.
Phong - congratulations on the purchase.
I will be interested in how you get on with the lens since I have been thinking about getting one myself.
Having said that the 180/2.8 + PK-13 has been working well for me recently.

Colin
Thank you Colin. I accquired it here, on Fred.
And thank you all MF Nikkor guys to inspire me in taking photos with MFNG.
Next will be 15mm F/3.5 AIS pursual.
And in the main Nikon forum, if you look above the left hand preview, you'll see a button there for the index thread, too. I try to keep it updated, if you see something I missed, let me know.

Wow, that index of yours really is very handy dandy!! Well done
It's freaking me out logging on to this thread and seeing no action for nearly a day! I've never seen the thread that far down the list before. It's not right. I better post something
Dean - good of you to keep things ticking along. Nice pics! I was going to post something Yesterday when my ten year old Win10 desktop decided to corrupt it’s boot drive. Personally I blame Microsoft for pushing out a major release on me. Couldn’t remedy the situation easily so had to do a clean install. Lost a couple of days stuff since backup was a few days old. No big deal but I did lose some photos edits I’d worked on in LR. Still got them in the SD card and a separate drive.
Waiting for the MacFanboys to jump in here....
Probably due a computer upgrade given its age.
