Some of you may or may not know this, but Staunton is the home of The Statler Brothers (an old country music quartet that grew up and lived in Staunton). The city erected a tribute (a round raised concrete and brick pedestal with bronze stools) for them in one corner of the parking lot where the market is held. One of their members, Harold Reid died in April and there has been a little tribute to him under what is supposed to be his stool ever since.

Serge I guess the tourism industry in NYC is gone for the summer as well as many residents that could escape have done so ! On a brighter note my daughter just bought an apartment in Brooklyn in a brownstone that has out door space for less money than it would have cost a year or so ago.
Leighton the market looks sparse …
Samy keep up with the nice work!
I have a couple of more from Luray before I wind it up. This and another posting.

Scott's comet with the plane in foreground is very cool.
So here is a redo of the Chula Vista power plant coming down in 2013, with the 50-300 and the D800. Testimony to the dynamic range of the D800 and sharpness of the lens.
saph, it used to be a lot more festive and energetic, that's for sure.
Rafael, great photos. I bet the shock wave was something else.
Speaking of fun, a friend drove us to the New Jersey Asbury Park Boardwalk yesterday. I have not seen this many folks having a great time in a very long spell.
So, I had my first farmers market experience today. Had a great time, but it started to rain really bad so not so many people came by. Next time there will be some more events that the city will put up. Perhaps that will bring some more people. We sold a few bottles of salsa even though.
All shots with the 35mm f/2.0 ais.
