Ken and Curtis, thanks for sharing photos and stories from your corona-covid-upside-down-world. Right now here in Sweden the curve of number of cases is going up dramatically since we started testing in a larger scale, but in the same time death rates are going down.
The only change in rules we had since we "opened" up is that we may travel within the country, before we were only allowed to travel 2h from home. The recommendations are still not to travel abroad, no amusement parks are open, groups more than 50 pers on a spot is still not allowed, socail distancing and so on...
I guess we´ll have to live in an alternate dimension for a while...
I for one doesn´t go out much in the city, buying food is done on the internet and delivered directly to the door. What I do though is going out hiking and fishing. Will have a couple more weeks of vacay, but then I´ll be working some with the growing, cooking and selling salsa project
Here´s a few more shots from recent roadtrippin.
First part of the hike to Fulufjället was easy and went pretty good.

But we were not able to go all the way up to goal line since the trail earlier this spring had been washed away an avalanche. Lots of snow this year. Same day we visited they were restoring it. 50/1.4 ais Njupeskär Helicopter with bridge by Kankara Karlhag, on Flickr
We could get a pretty nice look at it from a distance though. Njupeskär by Kankara Karlhag, on Flickr
We were pretty amazed by how the helicopter flew back and forth with material to restore the trail..

I'm not sure about your particular model as it's one I do not have, but I know for other lenses I have been able to screw in another same sized filter (i.e. the 200 f/2) and it fits and works.

Question: I have a 400/3.5 ED-IF lens with the drop in 39mm filter setup. Can I get a standard 39mm circular polarizer, and use it there? Rotate it outside, then insert it. The special Nikon units are scarce. A Google search is inconclusive, lots of speculation, and a search on FM didn’t yield much. I figured it likely someone here has actually tried it, and/or knows someone who did.
My situation is I have a camp on a pond with Loons and ducks, and when they swim by the contrast with reflection on water is extremely high, almost silhouette. I’d like to reduce that. I’m using a D700 or D300s with or without TC-14B. ...Show more →
I think he means the interior filter, which is 39mm I’m the 400mm 3.5, 52mm on the 800mm 5.6 and 200mm 2.0. Never tried a polarizer in them.

Correct, that is what I said, you can do that in the 200mm f/2 AF-S G VR lenses, and it "should" work the same in the 400 f/3.5 MF lens, which I do not own.

D850 + Nikkor 400mm f/5.6K ED ai'd + SB-400 (for fill flash), hand held, ISO 2500, f/5.6 ar 1/250s; 67% cropped (30/45MP). These guys (or girls) are the true terror of other birds: in my doctoral (PhD) thesis I have found that 89% of their diets were birds, mainly passerines!
The trip from South to North Carolina was nice as we took rural roads and avoided the interstate. Upon arrival we got settled in and the rain came.
Of the time there, we got out one morning to ride bikes around the property and saw people lined up for their "appointment" to use the swimming pool. Teeny bikinis and big masks What a sight!
I took the opportunity in between cloud bursts to snap a few photos of what was about.
The last photo should be of interest to everyone as I found the main source of all our internet concerns. No doubt the source needs to be neutralized but the police were not to be found as they were called away to monitor peaceful demonstrations.

So...what do you like about the D850 over the D610?

Hi Leighton, we birders need reach, this several times = cropping, a lot of cropping, so the D850 has the pixels the D610 haven't.
I see that when comparing the D500 21 MP vs the D7200 24 MP, yes just 3 MP more can save the day sometimes when excessive cropping is done!
I got a good deal with an used body, just 6000 clicks.
