"Lurking" and "Reagan" in the same sentence makes perfect sense.

Caught a few rocks with the tubes and got a few battered knees. Tomorrow “Camera Friendly Luray Caverns.”

I'm with you Reagan... largely because all of my old Adobe software still functions in Mojave... I'm avoiding Adobe's Creative Cloud. If/when I need to buy a new computer I'll switch to Affinity. I bought both their photo and publishing software. I can make it all work if necessary. Until then... Mojave. I'll make certain I have a bootable drive of Mojave set aside, hoping that even a newer computer will still run with the older OS. That is generally the case for some years after an operating system is released. I've run this computer on Sierra, even El Capitan.

I built a win 10 pc the only thing I do with it is use LR6 on it
trying to force myself to learn Capture 1

Those caverns are going to feel great in this heat
One more day of work here. Then taking a staycation for the rest of this week and next.
On the radar is some 4x5 film photography, trying my hand at making a couple of small batches of hot sauce, one quick, one fermented. A couple day trips to some of the least traveled state parks and maybe a kayak trip down a local river. Some grillin and chillin. Also picked up a good bottle of tequila for the hot weather.
Sound like a great way to spend some time in hot weather. Are you working with Kristian's recipe for that hot sauce?
Man, I'd love to adding hot sauce to some of my food but a rash has made everything as bland as possible... until tonight. I'm making brown rice at the moment and have a pouch of India food from Trader Joe's ready for heating. It is an experiment to see whether the bland eating I continue to do has done any good. Wish me well...

No, just going something simple. A Caribbean style mango habanero for the quick one (cooked and bottled) and a pineapple habanero for the fermented one. That one will take a couple weeks. Both small batches. Something I haven't done before and thought it would be fun to do this summer.

Dean, I'm absolutely loving the images you've been sharing from Hong Kong... what a treat to have you back on the thread sharing photos from that corner of the world. Right now, of course, the news paints a rather dire picture of the place. I don't know whether any of that affects you or your business but that you haven't spoken about it suggests not. Regardless, you have a new hunt to pursue... finding pristine copies of pre-AI Nikon lenses...
I love shooting with them on the Df though I actually began buying converted lenses. I only have three that four that don't have an AI aperture ring added. You should have a blast looking for them in all those shops around Hong Kong offering camera gear. Have fun!...Show more →
Thanks, Curtis. It was a real bonus finding this thread and being part of it. And thanks for what you've created here. It's a pretty special place. Nice to be back.
Business has been severely affected. The issues in HK never really affected us, but this virus from China has severely impacted business. Not just n HK, but in all our markets around the world. We were in good shape before it hit, so we'll ride it out OK.
I've have been reading up on the various 55/1.2's. I want one of the scalloped variety. Very sexy looking lenses. I like this site for info https://richardhaw.com/2016/02/06/repair-new-nikkor-55mm-f1-2/ He's very knowledgable, has a lot of real world example images and also shows what the lenses are like on film which is important for me.
You must have figured out that I am not taking many photos, decided to stick to being around the house and just go to the ships to work.
My processing has improved, I think, so here is a study in color of old photos of my all time favorite car, would take this over a Buggatti any time! (orperhaps take the Bugatti and sell it to buy 5 of these)

It may look like iPadOS a bit, but how it runs won’t be much different. It’s going to be a bridge OS, bridging Intel chips and ARM. I’m excited for it. Catalina is the OS I’m not thrilled with. I don’t think Apple put in the amount of development time that it needed. I have been using it at home and I’m testing it for work. My biggest issue is that other developers haven’t updated their software to 64-bit binaries. It’s not like they haven’t had time...Apple said that their support was going to end for 32-bit for over 10 years. Lazy...

Anything that you buy new, the OS that it ships with is the “oldest” OS that you can install on it. Mojave on an external drive won’t do you any good.

I've really embraced the iPad. I've always had them, but it wasn't until I got the 12.9" version that I really started using it for nearly everything (outside of work). I love it Especially with the new trackpad keyboard.
I'm looking forward to Big Sur and Mac OS being a little more like IOS. Hopefully more of the apps start work on both platforms. I still use my 27" iMac at home for serious editing, but I love editing images lying on the couch with my 12.9" iPad. I could never do this with a MacBook Pro as it's like a heater on your lap!

The 55 f/1.2 S.C. AI was the first pre-AI lens I bought and it hit the sweet spot for me... enough so I've bought THREE of them over the years. They have the metal scalloped focusing ring and the latest coating.
