It is a day to celebrate those that willingly placed their lives at risk for all of us, and delivered...
May their families find solace, their spirits thrive, and may we be so lucky as to join them in Valhalla.

Does my Df not like pre-AI lenses? Is there a setting I messed up? Mmmm.
Curtis:
I use non-AI lenses on my Df a lot and as long as I do my job, everything works out OK. Here are the things I mess up on:
* not setting the right lens in the non-CPU table (forgetting to move to a different lens in the table. when I switch lenses)
* forgetting to choose the non-AI option in the non-CPU table when entering a non-AI lens.
* turning the aperture ring on the lens, but forgetting to also turn the front control wheel to be sure the camera is reading the correct f-stop.

I am getting bored taking standard flower shots but the setting sun illuminated this patch in a nice way so I had to try to capture it. I was trying to get a sunstar effect as well but failed miserably.
Not like you were ever out there tempting people to buy a lens? Stick around kiddo...hanging around in shadows is what your photos do, not you.

Curtis - "step away for a day and things get crazy" I remember lurking for months and there was no sign of you. But yes, I snuck in while Philippe was away - but he's back now, on flickr anyway, so I don't dare post anymore pics.
Thank you everyone for the greetings.
Leighton - Tell me how you find the macbook 16 inch, I'm looking at buying one. I've got the 2017 Macbook Pro 15 - but it has serious thermal throttling (and of course the keyboard never worked). Now, with the 45mp files of the Z7 it's become unusable. I
need another laptop - I don't mind windows 10, and I'm tossing up between the macbook 16 inch or waiting for a new release later this year, although this thing is driving me crazy so I don't know if I can wait.
Colin - is it weird if I respond to your Flickr comment about the FTZ adapter here? Yes, I agree with you, it's not much of a looker on the Z cameras, but all the adapters are much of a muchness, they're just metal tubes bridging the flange difference for mirrorless. I pulled it out so I could use the MF lenses and post on here.
I used to shoot these MF lenses exclusively a few years ago but now I don't know how I did it, I've become so used to pressing the shutter and letting the camera do all the work that I'm finding it quite hard to use them - not that I have many left. I sold at least 100 - 150 lenses before leaving Australia. I sort of regret it now, there's a couple I wish I'd kept. But I see Curtis is still up to his old tricks, quietly and persistently urging more purchases - so who knows, I may re-buy - ha ha - adds new meaning to the "kit building is forever' adage.
I forgot how quickly this thread moves - it's full time work keeping up.

50-135 on tubes. Aiming straight down towards the ground, it was a challenge to hold the control ring from turning and sliding, all while bent over in a not so stable position.
Well I guess you’ve had your first full day of work Laura as permanent personnel! Congratulations, now bid for your dream job. I recall you had dinner with Robin and me just after you got cut because of injury. So Congratulations !👏🚀🏆🥇

That last shot is absolutely gorgeous! Well seen and captured.
Rafael - I'm with Kevin - although I think they're all sensational. Beautiful light. The second and third look so wide it's hard to believe they were taken with the 55.
Curtis - yes, I had over 100, closer to 150. I didn't mind the conversions. I admit some of them were a bit rough aesthetically but they worked perfectly. I also sold all the fuji lenses and I've had to buy back 4 of them since I got here, and given that there's a 48% difference in currency between dollars and euros, it's disastrous selling lenses in Australian dollars and re-buying them in euros. I don't know that I will re-buy nikkors - I'm finding it hard to use them nowadays. So I have to stay off this thread or you'll suck me in again.
Reagan - you're back on the D700?
Leighton - yes, I know I have to stock up on the RAM and SSD etc which ends up making it a very expensive laptop.I liked the look of the Dell 17" too.
Colin - all the pics I've seen suggest that quarantine might be a lot of fun at your place - when they open the borders you might have a guest, well, a gatecrasher anyway

Oh Laura how could you say that??!! I admit I was very enthusiastic about certain lenses but I absolutely deny ever "tempting" people to buy buy BUY - look at Curtis, I've only been back one day and he's already trying to get me to re-buy 100 lenses.
^^^^^^^
No just old photos
I have a used 750 on the way but use my Fuji's for AF
If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't need the 750 but I never got used to focus peaking

Ben - if you do make it over England then we should definitely meet up. Quarantine has been fine for us. Plenty of space here if you need a crash pad. Food is good. Wine flows when required...... 🤪

I thought about it for a long time and didn't need the 36mp and the extra weight
The 64 iso and the 1/8000 shutter of the 810 would have been nice but didn't want the xtra weight
and 24 mp is plenty plus the cost was much lower
and having just sd cards was a plus also
Reagan - I'm using the XT30 with the16mm f2.8, 20mm f2.8, 27mm f2.8, 35mm f1.4 and 56mm f1.2. I used to have the 16mm f1.4 but I was too mean to re-buy it so I got the f2.8 version instead - but I regret it.
Colin - that's very kind of you. I can see exactly how good life is at chez McIntosh.

Sounds good. I've been looking at used bodies, but haven't decided yet Can I ask where you purchased it?
