Sorry I could make this time, hope for a second opportunity.
You were missed Rafael. It all came together so fast that I wasn't able to reach everyone. Please send me a PM with your email address and I'll make certain when the next gathering comes around that you get the Zoom link. We are intending to meet at the same time the first Sunday in June... that would be 10:30 a.m. Pacific Coast time.

I was hoping you'd show up Chuong to tell me you'd sell me the lens... Drats!
Good to know you've enjoyed the lens. Go for it Dean! I'll likely follow you soon.
I actually saw one about a week ago at $70. I immediately thought of you but then I thought you probably bought one since that famous battle on eBay was 6-7 years ago. Oh well, I'll keep watching.
I was thinking the same things Scott. It seems we've been in a suspended state for months and it isn't easy to remember what life was like before the virus found its way here. A normal day at the waterfront with gorgeous boats to photograph seems delicious. Makes me want to wander down the docks in Sausalito... perhaps later this summer or autumn...
So I walk around San Anselmo and look for photo opportunities. Again, with the 80-200 f/4.5 AI. That lens in its various iterations was on the market for 11 years. It was a huge favorite among both amateurs and professionals, though the high price tag probably discouraged many folks. I paid $79 for the one I'm using. These lenses are a STEAL.
For the record I want to report that George read my lament about the 35-200 f/3.5-4.5 AI-s earlier today and offered to send his copy of the lens so I can try it out. How could I say no?
You're the man George. Thanks. I promise to take very good care of it and send it back once I've finished my evaluation. I know from seeing what Ken and David Hamments have done with the lens that it is a good performer. Now I need to decide whether I want another lens in my kit... You all with be the first to know...

So we had 14 participants at our first ever MFNG Gathering. Someone suggested a screenshot of those present and we're going to violate our Nikon lens requirement and use my iMac computer's image....
It was a lovely gathering with the usual mix of information and humor. When the question of doing it again came up there was a consensus we'd do it next month on the first Sunday. Scott suggested we report next month how many rolls of toilet paper we had left...
Thanks everyone for hanging out together. And don't forget that having contact virtually with friends from the thread is easy to do. George mentioned being open to conversations about photography or whatever, We are blessed to have many fine people who visit this thread. ...Show more →
I am so very bummed that I couldn’t make it. I really wanted to. When is the next one?

Took a day off work today, went fishing. Brought the camera and the NC24/2.8 and the 50/2.0 ai a couple of very neat little lenses to bring when out fishing.

Since George was curious, the lab-box does work, and in fact looking through the reel developed yesterday, I don't see some of the artifacts that the 4X5 sheet developed in the SP-445 tank had.
Aires Automat (yes, the same TLR I had on cam yeseterday), Ilford HP5 Plus, developed in Cinestill Df96 monobath. Scanned on Epson V700. Might try a cheap light table with the Z6 and a macro lens too to compare scans against the Epson.
Samy, how much if any post work do you have to perform?

The 4X5 ones I did the previous week, hardly any. For the 120 film scanned yesterday and taken with the Aires Automat, the frames looked underexposed, so had to raise shadows a good amount. The shutter on the 65 year old camera needs some tinkering. But unlike the 4X5 scans, these looked very evenly developed.

Kevin, Rafael and other folks who didn't get to connect, we will try again first weekend in June. Hope more folks can join in then! Somehow the conversation ended up on toilet paper. I don't know how

The shutter, not to mention the rest of my 65 year old body needs tinkering all the time!
