Actually the museum was closed that time, but last year George and I did a field trip while Leighton was finally helping Barbara out at the market, and the museum guy did let me walk away with one of his artifacts.
And, of course, after a bit of searching we found a great little pub that had fine assortment of beer to cool us off after a hot day trekking through Delry Beach...
I still remember the server and will try and remember her name
A little flirty she was
My wife and I tried to go there a couple years later but it was closed down
She was flirty... who she was flirting with was the open question.
That was a very nice pub. Sorry it didn't make it. As I recall we searched high and low. The beer was cold and the conversation a pleasure. There might have been some food as well. That I don't remember.
Anyone have the 200-600 f/9.5? Not sure if he's talking about the AI or AI-s though. Rafael?
I have access to an early version. Decent glass, but slow. It really needs either a tripod or at minimum, monopod. Most people who buy one think it’s defective because it only focuses up close. The lens comes with a spin on close up lens as the minimum focusing distance is like 20 feet. The other side is people get it without the closeup lens and find it hard to use near its MFD.
I'm starting to think #stayathome has been good for the health of this board. Keeping up has become a mission again, just like old times. Really great pictures in the past few pages.
Congratulations on the like new 135 Q, Rafael. Great price you got it for. You have access to some real bargains. Same shops don't even show up when I go to eBay. I love these lenses. They mate wonderfully to my D5500.
It is a month since the company I work for told us to work from home. The UK has been in lockdown for 3 weeks now. I have not ventured away from my house in all that time so wildlife, cats and flowers are going to feature a lot in the photos I share.
My stamina is slowly improving so hopefully I can go for a walk in the countryside later this week.

I chose the wrong lens to put on the camera this morning.
Rather than mouting the 200-500VR I opted for the 300/4.5 AI-S.
This beautiful beast circled over my garden for a while. Largest Red Kite I have seen in some time.
Focussing and tracking a moving object was a challenge but I managed a couple of OK shots.
CA is a big issue with this lowly lens too.
The extra 200mm and VR on the 200-500 would have been a bonus - but you have to use what you have on the camera at the time.
Nice shot Colin. Is your lens the EDIF version? Mine also shows a lot of CA which is very hard to get rid of - interestingly though very little when I use it with the PN 11.

Non EDIF. The poor man's version!
It is in beautiful, near Rafael, condition. Complete with box and also a boxed TC-301.
I sold some camera gear recently and was going to get rid of the 300/4.5.
Along with the 2x converter it's fate is probably still down that route.
