I think this is an immature Cooper's and it was playing with the cone as if it was practising with a bird.
I wonder...
Olympus claims the 150-400 has 25% faster AF than the 4/300.
i don't recall what the reason is for the increase in AF speed (new/better AF motor?) but I wonder if the 100-400 has the same AF speed as the 150-400.
I had a loaner Oly 100-400 and i shot a few quick BIF...I remember thinking that I wasn't expecting the AF to lock up so fast and so well on BIF...but it did...and I felt like it did it just as well as the 4/300...which is saying a lot for the "slow" lens which I wasn't even planning to try BIF with.
i'm from DPReview...there one can click on an image and see the high res file (if there is one available).
How do I see a larger version of images at FM?
Clicking on an image here just opens it at the same size in a less cluttered tab.

You can’t because no larger versions are uploaded to this site. If you read the FAQ’s about image uploads on this site, you will see the maximum size you can upload.

Thanks for your time and explanation Tony.
BTW great BKF shots (? why did you choose not to include exif).
great capture Robert.
do you (does anybody) find that the 40-150Pro suffers at all from loss of sharpness at full zoom?
i've read this issue is very common to zooms of all manufacturers.

Thank you Paul. Actually I find my 40-150mm Pro to be sharp all the way through the zoom range. But as you noted, I have seem other zooms like the Fuji 100-400mm and Panasonic 100-400mm be hit or miss (sharpness wise) at full zoom.
Here's another shot with the 40-150mm Pro at full zoom that is totally sharp - albeit it might look soft because of the upload.

You're probably thinking of Canon and Nikon DSLR zooms. Most modern high-quality zooms designed for mirrorless don't have this issue.

iirc the issue is known to the Oly 12-40Pro.
i have the 12-40 lens and iirc it(mine) does suffer sharpness loss at the long end.
of course most of the 75-300 and such from Oly/Pana seem to have the same issues.
i am planning to test/use my 40-150Pro with the MC20 (for birding- EM1X [as a supplement to my 4/300 and 1.4X]).
i haven't used the 40-150Pro lens much in all of the past 6 years either.
i am hoping i will not have to concern myself with avoiding any specific of range of focal lengths for the upcoming 'trial' and so forth.

Perhaps it's just that some people are just being overly optimistic about the capabilities of the IBIS system...?

on the longer 300mm zooms sure...but not on the 12-40Pro
Today was the first outing with my new super-duper, plastic-fantastic, fall-off-a-log low cost, Silver Bullet Olympus 40-150 lens. I got this lens at the Olympus refurbished site in brand new condition for less than $50 delivered.
So how good is it? Not bad I think when paired with my small kit E-M10 III camera. Here's some from the first test run.
