What tubes might one recommend for Sony A7rii for use with the Zeiss VS 100-300?
I got the Kenko set a few months ago. They seemed to be the best from a rather small choice of full-frame options. They're OK and work well, but they strike me as much less robust than my old Canon OEM set.
How does the Contax 100-300 compare in image quality to the Sony 70-300 G OSS?
Thanks in advance!
Scott
while the sony is pretty decent, got many great shots for me, the FBW was a huge annoyance for landscapes stopped down, pretty much how I use the longer focal lengths. The 100-300 is not always better wide open, but stopped down, it's considerably better. There's one major flaw with the 100-300 is that if you shoot with a lot of city lights, you can get bad flare, even a hood can only do so much. The 70-300 does not have this issue.
So while the 100-300 is better, you do lose a lot of convenience if you're shooting at a fast pace and life as it happens. It's an extremely high level optic, and beats some of my older primes in the same range, the contrast and colors are signature zeiss, images are very pleasing to work with.
That said, due to size and nature of the lens, I'll only use if I'm doing dedicated landscapes, I have a 24-240 for more casual shooting as it's a lot less fussy.

CONTAX extension tube set original works ok
I am guessing no difference between contax and Kenko Sony mount for hand held but that with my novoflex astat tripod ring, kenko might work better. Contax is cheaper. Decisions, decisions....

Charlie, I hope you don't mind me asking, but does this flare also show up with comparatively small light sources of a city at night or is the flare limited to bigger light sources? Thanks.
