Stephan Kölliker just released a test of many mostly minolta Vintage lenses. The comments are in german but the images are selfexplaining: http://artaphot.ch/sony-nex/altglas
the list of lenses:
* Leitz Thambar 2.2/9cm (1937)
* Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 1.5/7.5cm (1936/1951)
* Zeiss Sonnar 2/85mm (1936/1955)
* Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 1.7/85mm
* Minolta MD Rokkor 2/85mm
* Minolta AF 1.4/85mm
had a little time to try to get to know the mc 85/1.7 today and also compare it directly to the samyang 85/1.4. my big conclusions are (at least for aps-c):
1) the samyang is sharper and contrastier for landscape across the frame till f/11 where it's a wash
2) the rokkor has better CA control and is less susceptible to purple fringing
3) the samyang has smoother, more controlled bokeh and a more rapid transition from in focus to out of focus (rokkor has more SA/glow)
4) rokkor is smaller, has better build, and better ergonomics
5) the rokkor has more pleasing color (this is probably subjective)
over all i definitely prefer rokkor for portraits unless there is a particularly troublesome background that i want to avoid funky bokeh on. the slower focus transition (even with the rokkor at f/1.7 and samyang at f/2) just makes faces look better. the samyang has a more "modern" (well corrected) look. for landscape the samyang is the obvious winner unless there are a lot of bright whites in which case the rokkor would provide a more pleasing image. honestly, i wouldn't pick either of them for landscape though they can certainly do it just fine.
Does anyone have the original SR mount for the rokkor 58/1.2 in mint condition?
I'm willing to pay a small fee if you'd like. But it must be in excellent condition..
thanks!

I took my MC Rokkor 58/1.2 for a spin on the 5D Mark III this morning. Most of these are shot at f/2 except the first which is wide open.
[Edit] - Just realized the second image was at f/5.6
could you guys please stop to post images with that until my A7 arrives on Nov 19.? Thank You!
