Can someone recommend a third party hood for the 58/1.2? I've tried a couple of the old Minolta ones but they dont seem to cut it. Illbe using it in some challenging lighting conditions soon and need something to help fight flare a little more.... This is for full frame coverage... So preferably something loong but not so that it induces vignette.
I know it kinda old but men, i'm addicted to these kind of bokeh right now! So, could anyone please recommend me some other lenses that can give me the same result as this Rokkor 50 f1.2. (i'm having a low budget right now so...the cheaper, the better!!!
Thanks everyone!

the lens with the closest bokeh to the MD 50/1.2 that i'm have shot with is the rokkor MD 50/1.7 with 49mm filter ring. very similar funky style, but obviously the amount of blur it generates is smaller.
Thank you, Bifurcator and Sebboh, but how about the Olympus 55 f1.2 and 50 f1.2!? Because i've seen samples of them show that the bokeh is kinda funky, too!

both funky in different ways (from each other and the rokkors), but both more expensive than the MD 50/1.2.
Pulled a picture taken a while ago from a memory card left in my old canon T1i. Shot with a rokkor 58/1.2 @ F2. I think need to get myself another rokkor.

MC Rokkor PG 50/1.4 + NEX7.The lens does well with this camera in good "average" conditions like these below, but fails a bit in poor/harsh lighting.
In poor, low lighting fine details becoming less visible due to low microcontrast of the lens. This is augmented by incereased noise of NEX7's sensor resulting in poor details rendition overall.
In harsh lighting the lens tends to flare and presents washed out colours in high contrast areas.
So far out of all lenses i got only Zeisses (C/Y,Z series) consistently deliver with the NEX7.Doesn't matter conditions.NEX5N is much more forgiving.

All taken with a Minolta MD 50mm 1.7 on my EPL1. Haven't used this lens for probably 30 years. I dug it up out of the basement along with a bellows and a Minolta 200 Qf 3.5.

....thanks! actually these and most of my other 58/1.2 shots are taken on a sony a55 with the mirror removed, so same sensor as the NEX-5N.....
Out of curiosity, how difficult is it to remove and replace the mirror?
