Remember, do not crit the subjects, its bad for business! Somebody outside of our circle is going to stumble across this thread and when they do, it would be best for all involved if they didn't find any harsh comments on the people being photographed.
I remember when Jenna Bush was married, there were at least 2 photographers: one that seemed like the "hired" photographer, and the other was a White House staff . . . so, for Clinton's, there could have very well been multiple photogs for different purposes (one for Getty, one for Clinton history, one for Chelsea, etc). Who knows.
For weddings like this they will obviously have press photographers as well as a photographer covering the actual event. The AP photographer was shooting it for a press event most likely and NOT directing the couple as the primary wedding photographer would be doing that.
Hey...the guests at these high society weddings wouldn't be caught dead taking pictures on their own; it would be like saying the they aren't rich enough to buy the prints from the photographer. Sort of like buying a Ferrari and asking about the gas mileage...
this is hilarious. i found this thread because i am taking the denis reggie / joe buissink workshop (which is freaking amazing btw). anyway i came home from day one and was talking to my wife about and she starts to google denis. the google suggestions #2 is "denis reggie chelsea wedding photographer". what is so funny about it is that gigi (mentioned above) is taking the workshop with us (my *guess* is that dennis invited her to come do the workshop for free). they were laughing how denis was getting tons of press about it and how entertainment tonight was outside his house one day claiming he was the photographer.
anyway, gigi was the hired photographer. she had a team of 4. barbara (bill's staff photographer) was also there with a second shooter.
denis was a good guess since he has shot countless high profile political weddings including 20 kennedy weddings.
