What you should have done is bring one M240 to Spain, and then sell it to me (within the EU). I've discovered the used market for these is fraught with scams!

Yes I should have brought it with me I sold it on ebay in less 24 hours, so there is a huge demand for the M240's and for all the right reasons.

Charles,

I've silently admired your work in this thread for quite awhile. I actually love coming to this thread every day, though I've never held a Leica. I do have a few M-mount lenses that I use on an A7, and my ZM 25/2.8 and 35/2.8 are just not that great at the edges as everyone well knows. I haven't seen much out there regarding problematic lenses on the newer A7s. I can't recall if you use many wide or symmetric design lenses like my ZMs, but if so, can you opine on any differences you see with the A7s?

I recently

Thank you for your kind words Regarding WA's on the A7r/A7s, having a few Leica M lenses already the 24 Lux and WATE, are amazing lenses on the A7r, combined with the DR and 36MP. I have done many large prints with the WATE/A7r combo, and it is best WA setup I have had. If I did not have these lenses to begin with, I would not have invested in them solely for the A7r. The difference with the A7s is having the large pixels, the rendering is so different or the designed have evolved, where the same lens will give you two styles of renderings. I find with the A7s, that I can used the 50 Lux Asph as well as the 35 Lux FLE. I do not need many lenses, and once I have found the combo, I usually just stick to it otherwise I become frustrated changing lenses!
As mainly a 50mm FL shooter, the A7r and A7s poses no real issues for me.

Charles - is this some sort of joke? Of course, I am only kidding. I truly wish you all the best and am looking forward to you posting again here (in around 2 months). Have a great time in Spain!

Thank you Gary I will of course post shots in Spain.

Must be contagious "the life thingy" it seems that the number of posts over the last little while is down, but I hear there is a cure that has been tested on a few of Liecaphilias as they have managed to post some images lately the rest of us will just have to wait until the vaccine arrives. I heard a dose of a new lens or body speeds up the recovery time.

Visited a village called Viserum today and decided to drive by the old railway station where I found this classic rail bus. First one with the 50 Lux and then the rest with the 24 Lux.

Joakim - really neat shots! That first one with 50lux has such pleasing rendering. What aperture was it shot at?

Gary, what is this about? I sense it is going to be something depressing...

Some good news: I have my "starter" 35/1.4 CV purchased. Still need a body though (donations welcome).

Thanks!

LR says 2.4 and that sounds about right, I think I started at 2.0 but had to stop down a little for the sky. What's up with the shoes?

I also haven't been able to post or shoot for myself lately. Great stuff everyone but July was a blur. I have been so busy...

Thanks guys! These shots were taken in Budapest on the banks of the Danube and is a memorial to the Budapest Jews who were shot by Arrow Cross militiamen in 1944/45. They were forced to take off their shoes (as they were valuable) and then were lined up and shot into the river.

Is leica market very soft now? looks like everything is cheaper and getting very slow. I think they might have trouble. off topic

Fantastic work everyone! The Budapest set is very touching and I like the colors and the activity in the train station set above.

I agree that Leica market is currently soft, but I believe it is caused by the availability of too many goods. In fact, Leica prices and demand were high because there was a shortage of goods at a certain time. Now that production is normal since they moved to Wetzlar, there is no reason for such inflated prices, and I think this is how it is supposed to be. The previous situation when demand was unusually high and used items were priced as high if not higher that new items, was indeed an exceptional situation that couldn't last too long.

zhangyue - Seems that way. Maybe Photokina is to blame. Rumour has it Leica is going to announce a MM replacement and an ME replacement. I don't think so.. But then again, who knows?!

Personally, I've just been busy. Work, personal matters, moving logistics, and bad news. June/July/August a crazy set of months this year.

You know, I strap my camera to my person most of the days I'm out, but not really inspired or in the mood to take shots with everything else going on. And the few shots I do take, never make it into LR (mainly due to work commitments).

burningheart - Wish it were that easy. Eh who knows, I'll upload something maybe it'll make me feel better overall.

Here are a few shots I took while in LA house hunting this past July (50APO f/2):

Oh I can relate to that... Glad it's not just me . I think like you, if I have too much other stuff going on in my head it can close me down to some extent, and I just don't want to see or really lift the camera too often if at all. You can also sort of lose that confidence to some extent, that protective barrier, that let's you photograph (strangers) in public.

I think a new environment and/or a clear mind can help with this to some degree.

More great photos guys!
