Here's my 6 year old who just had a home haircut in the kitchen getting rinsed off from all the hair cuttings in the kitchen sink. He looks so small and helpless here... I am really liking this image. M-E and 50 Lux asph.
Peter, Really nice work, I admire the view. Sakima is truly a great friend and best companion, I guess he/she will never complain you spending time perfect your shots

Stalking seems to come with the territory. Ever since I bought a Leica I seem more stealth now than when I carried around a DSLR. Congrats on the tripod win. I kept thinking it was on a Saturday. Oh well it was for the best I would have ended up spending money again.

Edward - maybe Thais are getting tired of 'tourists' and their cameras? The few times I've been in Taiwan I found it pretty easy to shoot on the street without any kind of apparent displeasure from those around me.. but I also didn't understand the language, and it's been a few years. Maybe things are changing globally? I can sympathize with those in front of the lens. There are so many cameras out there now, it really does feel invasive at times, seemingly staring into a lens each way you turn, whether it's a phone or a 'proper' camera... combined with all the media reports about corporate and governmental spying/data mining of internet traffic, etc. I wonder when the identity cloaking head covers will hit the market...?

I shot some of those too... Nothing too fancy, just liked the colour contrasts.

In this case, no motorcycle involved. Trail is about 10 miles from my house by road. Drove out and hiked from there.
I would have some people mad at me if I rode in that particular place .
However, there are many trails near and far where I can and do ride one of my two trail bikes.
A horse would be good also, I rode in the backcountry alot when I was a kid, but it's alot of work to keep the Horses well and fit.
I wish I had the time and money to do so!
Spent it all on cameras and lenses
Speaking which, this hike taught me that leaving the A7 and an imperfect 200 home, and taking an 135 APO would be a better way to go. I have a sweet wetzlar M6 and a few lenses I'll sell if I can to fund one.
for much of the hike I had both cameras slung by strap, but was surprised once when I pulled the sony around to shoot and found the battery door open!. Lucky the battery was still there. People complain about the base plate of the M9 etc, but it is way better than the cheap little doors on the A7. I wish I could find a case for it that actually covered the LCD, and all the silly doors.
Ron - wow, that starburst abstract is quite spectacular. Also, the place I went was a French-themed village hotel.
uhoh7 - frankenfinder on the M9 looks very imposing
I have a nice little 21 zeiss finder for my sem, but I use FF for the 18--so far. Frankenfinder is pretty tough What's also nice is it goes to 28, so I used it with the Cron 28 in the shots above. Very relaxing. I wear glasses, and at 28 with the M9 I have to move my head around to see the edges. I'm not really used to that yet.
I like to shoot the shrubs and flowers to help me learn them better, and I have not decided what RF lens is easiest to do this with on the M9. That zeiss goes to .5, so sometimes I push the camera forward a bit with a small stop. It seems just fine stopped down---but there may be a threshold. Doesn't normally matter at 18, f/8 is fine for huge DOF, unless you are really close. Then f/13 is pretty nice to have crisp.
Charlie, nice shots with the 18 distagon. I used to have the Voigtlander 16-35 zoomfinder. Very handy and small and good optics but a bit too much distortion at the wide end. Zeiss finders are the best imo.
Ron, beautiful starbursts! I doubt the planar would do better As you say people get tired of cameras pointed at them, but I think I did get too much into their personal space with the 25mm lens. I normally don't get such reactions with longer lenses. They didn't show much displeasure but since I speak the language that made me a bit uncomfortable, but I pretended not to understand and kept on playing the dumb tourist role
Gary, it looks very well made. I bought the 10mm extension (M2) but they have the M1 which is 8mm. I haven't tried it yet, being too lazy and not needing to shoot any closeups recently. I should try it soon though and will report back. According to my calculations, at MFD, I should be able to get to 0.46X with the 25, 0.34X with the 35, 0.28X with the 50, and 0.22X with the 85. Quite impressive.

Ron, nice play with color and contrast. I also like the sunstars in this pictures. In general, especially for landscapes, I am undecided if I like them. Just because of the reason that I can't see them with the eyes, which makes them not so natural looking. On the other hand I made sunstar pics my self, they certainly eye catching.
Thomas, nice sport pics, to me the first stands out. The framing as well as the timing are perfect!
Ceder, excellent light and moment. Perhaps I would try a tighter crop, without the house?
