Thanks Edward.. My frame lines are still way off on the M240, and slightly less off on the other M240 (but I took the "bad" one with me this trip)... I've kinda just learned to live with inaccurate framing.. It doesn't really effect the pricture to much if I give myself breathing room, and I'm not shooting to many geometric heavy images.
Adam, I'm also not clear yet whether my M240 frames are slightly off or not, but I feel the M9 was more accurate. I should investigate it a bit further.
Edward - Nice shots, it's really easy to test for, you just need to find some buildings at different distances and try lining the edge of your frame both vertically and horizontally with said buildings. One of my M240 cameras is off with most of my lenses by a far margin, even though leica "fixed it". And my other M240 is off by a bit more then I think should be standard.
Katie - Last one of your first post is most interesting, the BB net in front of the boys face makes the photo, but you wouldn't quite know what is in front of him, if you haven't seen your other images. Cool.
Thank you Adam! I will check the framelines today. I have been suspecting for a while that the frames are not very well leveled, and that I'm always getting too much space to the left side of the frame in my shots.
Edward, great street series even with the curfew!
Katie, excellent shots.
Allen, superb!!!
Adam, the frame lines should be part of the range finder calibration, and it amazes me, that they do not check this. For portraits with the 50/75 FL, this is so frustrating, particularly at 1 to 2m. I find both of the my M240's are off too. I tend to use the EVF now with 50 Nocti f/1.0 and 75 Lux for portraits!!

Yep, I think all M240s are off slightly like that, just give it a quick try at different distances. But one of mine is FAR FAR OFF, so far, the other one looks good.

Yeah as I've said before, Leica really neglects to check everything you ask them to. I specifically said that I needed all that stuff checked, and the work order that came back had said that the frame lines had been adjusted, but nope!
Also they didn't do a good job on RF calibration for the 50LUX and 75APO (luckily the other camera I have works better with those two lenses)
I have two EVFs and I do use them on occasion, but to be honest, aside from IQ, if I'm going to use the EVF I might as well be using a A7 w/auto focus 55FE lens I actually much prefer to work with the RF, but really Leica doesn't always make it easy on us.

After checking at both close range and infinity, I can confirm that I'm getting quite a bit of extra space on the left side of the frame. However, I am not loosing any space on the right side, which basically means I'm getting all my original composition plus some extra on the left. It's something I have to keep in mind when I shoot but not too serious. The frames are quite level. I was never good at getting perfectly horizontal lines with rangefinders but my VF seems to be reasonably ok.
As for Leica maintenance don't get me started. I'm sorry about your bad experience, but I think it's becoming rather the norm than the exception. The only 2 instances I needed Leica service, it was less than optimal, and not very pleasant.

I'm hoping I don't have to deal with Leica to much.. I'd love for the cameras/lenses to just work for years to come
