Hi Edward, can you tell me which shop that you dealt with and what is the price of a used M240? I think we can buy brand new M240 at around 230000 baht in HK as the baht seems to depreciate recently. I have a friend living in HK and he can bring the camera to Bangkok instead of shipping it here and pay hefty tax.
Gary: nice composition, you do so well in architecture. the canon 50 f/1.4 LTM must be one of the great bargains in M-mount glass ...
Ron: always enjoy snow shots. nice use of the "forlorn" goals too
Ron & Edward & Charles & others: ditto on the appreciation for testing and sharing experiences with the new sony A7 cameras, saving me a lot of time and expense
The snow is back in Stockholm but with temperatures above zero it doesn't add much white, at least not in the central parts of the city. M9 and 35 Lux.
Sweden is ready for the Olympic is hockey final, hurray! Let's see who the opponent will be...
Oh, I thought the final match is happening in an hour? Well, at least here it's being hyped as THE game. I like that one Joakim - she looks cold and the falling snow adds to it.
Thanks everyone for your comments!
Haven't done benches for a while...
M240 & 50 Lux ASPH for first two, 90 Summarit, 28 Cron for last two.

Hi Teera,
I think 230,000 baht is an excellent price. I can get it new in Bangkok for around 256,000 baht at best. Do you think your friend will be willing to help? That would be a huge favor.

I just put a black Leica dot on my camera and it works so much better now! Like night and day really. Problem is that it now only shoots in B&W…
Nice Gary...where did you get a black dot for the M240?

So, you gonna be going to work or calling in sick to watch the game?
I took the day off. I went out to shoot the sunrise near Banff, and then headed back to Canmore to watch the game on an outdoor screen. It was a great time and the result I hoped for. Canada vs Sweden is going to be an incredible game!
Ron - nice winter set. Just signed my kids up for soccer but your pic tells me spring is still a ways away….
Joakim & Katie - thanks so much!
Mike - honestly, the Canon f/1.8 ltm is such a good all around performer. Nice wide open and quite sharp stopped down. You can get some funky flare with it too which I like.
Joakim - nice pic and I am also looking forward to the gold medal game.
Charlie - must be nice to be on the hill most the time…
Gary, very nice B&W. Amazing how the black dot works!!
Ron, love these series of snow scenes. I really like pastel rendering, but the detail is beautifully there.
Joakim, great timing of the street capture!! Love it
Charlie, very nice! I like the way you have the choice of so many lenses, and if you want to travel light, you can.
Gary, looks like a great day!!
Phil, congrats on the new 5cm Jena. Really nice toning
@Ron #3 in the trees my fav
@ Gary excellent shot!
@ jojomon, love those
TY Charles and Gary. Today I stayed off the hill and went north, again with only two lenses, this time the 28 cron and the 90 Summarit--which I cannot bring myself to return! I have one RF 75, 3 canon 85s (1.9,1.8,1.5) 3 90s now (TE90 (must sell), CV 90, and summarit), 2 canon 100s and a nikon RF 105. Most too heavy for frequent use.
as you can see it has finally snowed here L1004465 by unoh7, on Flickr
Charlie, looks like a potent combo. Moire on fabrics with the M9 is pretty standard fare. While I haven't shot a lot of people-in-suits type work with the M240 yet, what I have so far hasn't resulted in much noticeable moire, even with moire provoking lenses such as the 21SEM.
Gary - looks like it was a good time. I watched it online instead. The final should be a great game! Spring sure does feel a long ways away with all the snow and cold weather this winter.
I didn't know you could (still) get black dots? Especially considering the M's dot is larger than the M9 (and I assume previous models too).
Phil - looks great.
Thanks Charles! M240 doesn't disappoint for detail. Maybe it's not quite the same as the a7R, but suits my needs nicely.
Ron - neat set. I heard that Don (DAG) takes stock red M dots (for M240) and strips/paints them black. If so, he did an incredible job. I really don't do much bling to my cameras but one thing I prefer is the black dot. Goofy really but it's just the way I am. Don't worry though - I am not going to go out and put pink lizard skin on it!
Phil - that lens looks to have so much character. Very nice!
