Thanks so much Gary. I so enjoy seeing your work to and I am constantly humbled and inspired by everyone that posts here. It is my favorite thread on FM and I think it has the most talented and diverse group of photographers that post on FM.
Katie, love your shots how they capture your life
uhoh, really like your WA images! The 21 SEM is one small lens, that really works. There a quite a few on the second hand market now. I suspect the WATE and other M lenses that work on the A7/r are in greater demand for now.
Gary, really nice work! The 21 SEM is one great lens, as is the ZM 25
Allen, excellent composition! Love your work
Phil, beautiful images! Your work with the M-M is really nice Love that last shot.
Jud, great stuff!
This thread moves too fast for me to catch up, apologies for those I don't mention (though I have been using the Like button for others)
Gary - love the consistency of your work with the ZM25.
uhoh7 - great work with the wides, but I notice color shift creeping into the edges of some of them; it is quite obvious in the snow. Were you using the correct lens profiles, or were the profiles insufficient to fully correct the edges? (I haven't shot below 28mm so I wouldn't know...)
Manoj - there are two ways to work with a CPL filter. First, I have seen some kind of specialized Leica CPL filter gadget on Google images, I'm not sure if it is still in production or not, but the idea is that you attach it to your lens, flip the filter out and adjust it by looking though the filter itself, then flip it back onto the lens. The second method is to mark your CPL filter with some white paint so that you can adjust the filter first, then attach it to the lens and use the markings as a guide.
Phil - congrats on the 28 cron. This year I'm forcing myself to use this focal length more, to learn and familiarize with it. I'm still a 50mm person, but between 35 and 28, I'm finding myself preferring 28 much better whereas with 35, I keep finding it too "in-between", either too short or too long for what I want.
Jud those MLK shots incredible 1, 2, 3 of the band really jump. wow
Nice shots from eveyone.
I don't doubt my CV 21 is shifting, it's coded as WATE 21, which is not optimal, hehe. I need to shoot some control shots for the flat field plugin in LR.
Charles, I'd love an SEM 21, or 24 but I should sell some stuff first
M9 loves the CV 35/2.5. Great handling, mine is not pancake, so has real "rod" for zone focus on the fly, and tiny screw on hood with custom cap. Perfect for skiing. 110 grams, they go for 275usd often.
Im looking at either buying the 24 2.8 elmarit asph or 24 3.8 elmar asph
I heard great things about both lens, curious if anyone has any FB on real world use with these lens? Tired of reading reviews on it, I would rather hear from people who use it here!
I'm after contrast, sharpness, and very very low distortion
Low light is my least priority, not interested in the f1.4 version
The 24 Elmar ASPH is a superb lens, small and light with an excellent resolution and overall image quality. I have enjoyed it a lot for both landscape and urban shooting.
