Thanks a lot for the answer, Joe, that is very helpful. I don't *need* to do any video, so I have been thinking about how I could get an affordable setup for playing around with, and the Stereo VideoMic Pro seemed like a good option. I also need a fluid head for panning and such, and was thinking about the ~140 Euro Manfrotto one. My existing Gitzo is probably fine for a tripod.
Edward, great set of shots! Love your PP'ing and colours, almost like Fujichrome film processing. We will probably visit Chang Mai next visit to Thailand

You're most welcome. Video can be fun, but be careful, as soon as you get hooked, the cost of accessories can add up pretty quickly and there are endless choices. I used to think Leica lenses were expensive until I read up on Cooke and other cine glasses.
If you are looking at Manfrotto heads, consider the 501HDV or the slightly cheaper 701HDV. Else I have a cheap Chinese fluid head which is quite decent. Many indie film makers start with these as they are affordable. http://www.ebay.com/itm/WF-717AH-Photography-Video-DSLR-Fluid-Tripod-Head-/260784499286?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb7f7aa56 With a fluid head, many videographers also prefer a tripod with a bowl base as those allow you to level the head without having to adjust the tripod legs, but your Gitzos should work well, just ensure you order the correct fluid head with a flat base. Else you can buy a complete set of these Chinese fluid heads with a bowl tripod for $130-$150.
The 3D is striking and the bokeh so dreamy. They make me reflect that perhaps stellar lens prices may realise something special in the right hands, in other words, the seemingly insane price may be justifiable.
Incidentally my wallpaper on my iPad is also a dusk image of that Aqualuna, but taken in Aug11 with a more mundane 1D Mk III and the EF50/1.4
Ryan, congrats on the lens, though IMO, it has some weaknesses that may or may not be irritants... those being, relatively poor edge/corner performance until well stopped down, and also focus shift. But then, it's 1/8th the price of a 28 Cron...
Really like the composition of the first image!
Andrew, wow, great set and shows the Nocti can be pretty versatile.. both looking normal and with some pretty cool background rendering in 3,4 and 7.
Michael, nice sets and looks like a very interesting location! Good luck with the R gear!
Allan: Great stuff on the previous page and particularly love the curved staircase and sailors (with another 'photo shoot' in the background too ).
Joe and Charles - been enjoying your images in the RX1 image thread too.
Edward, wow, the pop and colour!
Guess I should post these before Christmas... Thanksgiving with relatives in Wisconsin with either the 21 Lux w/o or the 50 Lux ASPH w/o. Some of the 21 Lux shots have been cropped a bit and therefore may not have quite that wide a look... primarily due to some lazy, tilted framing on my part...
