Lots of interesting shots in the last few pages. Ryan, I like the use of silhouettes in that shot with the guy running with the surfboard.
After a few weeks, I got my camera back from the Leica service center in New Jersey. Taking into account that Leica's service center was hit by a hurricane, lost power, and their employees had to deal with the cold and gas shortages. I'd say that they did a fantastic of customer service. Very happy to get my camera back, here some random test shots while i try to get acquainted with the 50 C Sonar.
Have not been posted here for a while. So many good images!
In the films days, I was very fond of Leica Elmar-M lens. In good lighting conditions, at f5.6 and f8, the lens renders beautifully. But I have not used it on digital Ms until this morning. I took the M9 with a Elmar-M 50 for s morning walk. Most of the images were taken at f5.6.
Your photo of the MM reminds me how small this camera is. I haven't shot with anything but rangefinders for over a year, and sometimes I feel the M9 is too big

Nice shots by the way, especially the first one.
Ryan, nice shots with the Noctilux.
Thanks. I'm hooked. Just trying to figure out how to switch completely over to Leica in the next few years.
A lot of you already know I was testing the 50 APO for a weekend. I'll probably be testing it again, as soon as I have some free time. Hopefully over a nice weekend.
I wanted to mention something I was told while badgering my contact about when the APO will be ready for sale (thinking about buying one)... Apparently the 50APO is going to be delayed due to manufacturing issues. I was told the lenses thus far haven't been up to MTF chart specs. The problem they're having is sharpness, center as well as corners. Now the copy I tested was plenty sharp, but I was told that it'll be even sharper in final production. And it will not have a negative impact on the bokeh.
So this is pretty exciting news (if it's accurate), and I look forward to getting my hands on an actual production model, since as I said, I already thought the 50APO prototype was plenty sharp, but would love to see it "improved". Now I'm not really one for rumors, but figured I'd share this bit of info for those of us interested in the 50APO.
With that said, I'm seriously thinking about switching my setup to an M10 and 50APO and just using one lens for a long while (will keep the 28though, everything else has to go!).
I was actually toying with the idea of doing that with the Noctilux, but find it's a bit big for a one lens setup. I've been using just 50mm a lot (even for work, with my Nikons) to try and see if I could get away with one lens for all situations (it's quite a challenge at work, but the Leica is for playtime, and I will also have the 28cron to help out).
Anyway, no Leica images today, been to busy with work
