Dan, very nice, love that last shot
Michael, really nice series, particularly #1 in the last set
Edward, nice tonality throughout the shots Favourite is #1 from the last set.
Ash, great graphic shots!!
Joakim, love that second shot
TriTan, nice rendering with the Konica.
Justin, nice set. Favourite is #2
Not many shots for the last few weekends, but some shots of my GF from yesterday, first with 50 Lux Asph and M9-P, and second M-M 50 Nocti f/1.0 @ f1.0 and 10000 ISO, with no moon light, and some very low street lighting, with the ocean in the backdrop.
Thanks, Edward. Yeah, the 50 Summicron I is pretty low in contrast, and I actually added a little more contrast in post than I normally would, although it still has more contrast than some of the really old lenses out there. It's a pretty cool lens with a different look than my others, and its nice to have a lens that leaves the shadows open a bit. I LOVE the fact that it collapses, which makes it feel non-existent on the camera.
Here's another one with the newer 50 Summicron V at or near wide open, just to give you a sense of its rendering on the M9:
Edward and Michael, thank you guys Very nice capture at the Skytrain terminal!
Michael, great series, but I really love the lighting in the first two shots
Douglas, nice examples with the 50's. Although the first shot maybe lower in contrast, the detail is all there, and easily brought with PP'ing.
Douglas, I like both. I love Leica's old lens. especially handling. Old lenses' Low contrast is most from coating I feel, but with some PP, it can be brought back to life.
Andy, both look nice, 2nd looks very familiar, is it along the 101? and where is first one?
Michael, these were all in Oakland by Lake Merritt. Your kids are very photogenic.
Edward, it is the last version of the Konica35, seems like not many people use it.
Lots of great stuff over the last few pages and nice to see a bunch of new contributors!
Was offline much of last week due to ISP problems where I was staying in Munich... but made a costly visit to the Leica Store with Hilmar during our meet-up.
They had a copy of the 21/3.4 in stock and couldn't resist the temptation, as it was pretty much the final lens on my current want list, and in the past they've never had it in stock. It was also nice to save about 20% from US/CAN pricing (after I get the 19% VAT back).
As I've stated before, if anyone is ever traveling to Munich and is looking for lenses, definitely visit the store. They seem to have a fair amount more stock now than last year... and the prices are very attractive once you get the VAT refunded.
Unfortunately I haven't had much chance to use the lens, but just went out for a few shots around the house. The weather has been terrible the past few days thanks to Sandy.
Early impressions of the lens is it's very sharp wide open....
Nice! I love that lens, even on 1.5x crop. Sharp, and the colors are amazing. I am definitely looking forward to using it on a full-frame some day. We'll see if that body costs more than the lens did
