Gary, excellent shots. The ZM18 pics are beautiful and sharp.
Ajay, very nice set with your street photography foray! The second shot on the first set is my favorite, excellent and thanks for sharing the info! Tell us more about Photokina 2012!!
Charles, that second Bali shot with the 24Lux is excellent. Nice detail and pop. The first 50Lux portrait is superb. Love it!

Thorsten's article is full of clues yet it does not tell us what is exactly in-store for Sept 2012. I think the new fast Noctis, if they are in the longer focal lengths, hints at a possible live view or EVF solution for focusing aid. Interesting days ahead.

------
In keeping the spirit of the recent MM announcement and also the various excellent shots posted recently with the 28Cron, here's my contribution. All M9 28Cron, taken last year at Topsfield Fair, MA.

AshNZ, I really like your composition in the first photo of the London series, #4 with the underground sign is cool too! The St Paul's reflection in the mirror was a good catch.

Gary, I kind of thought that your 90mm was a pre AA version. It draws in a very really nice manner!

Charles, the 24 lux... another super shot!

Andrew (Great name BTW ) Your images with the 135mm Telyt are going to lead me into bankruptcy! it looks awesome!

Gary, cool badlands shots! You must go out at dusk in Alberta, the skies are like no other place.

Ajay C, please keep the 50 0.95 images coming, hopelessly, I am try to resist ordering one... #4 is super! I like the second set too.

Charles, thats quite a pig, I hope that you managed a little taste. The lux image shows some different bokeh beside the mans head. Thats the first image from the lux that I have seen with this type of bokeh, it reminds me of Version 1 Asph.

Joe 88, the young girl does not look happy, but you caught her look really well.

Doug, nice to see the silver fx plugin used as well.

All in all lots of great shots, great to see!

Just for you, a couple of (test) images
The web size does not make any justice to the amazing quality of this lens, trust me.
8th edition of the Leica pocket book lists both 135mm Telyt and 90mm Cron APO
as "belongs to the two or three best Leica M lenses ever made".
I own both and I think I agree

Charles - great portraits and love the colours and tonality.
Joe - very rich feeling tones and really like 1 & 3!
Doug - very nice - making the 90 Cron shine!
Gary - particularly love the last one - very cool!
Andrew - wow. I was browsing Puts's site recently and also read that. The 135 looks phenomenal. How close does the Hawk's adapter let you focus?

Out for a walk and revisited a stand of sumac trees I photographed a few times last year...

Alternating between the 5cm f/1.5 Summarit and 50 Lux ASPH. 28 Cron for the last one.

I think it's down to 70-80cm.
A really nice set with different looks. Although I'm not a big fan of the first 5cm pic,
I think it would improve a lot by using the new CS6 RAW processing, at least
the ugly cyan CA would be fixed. And it does work really well.

One more from last night showing the bokeh of the 135

Thanks Andrew, Ron!

Gary, nice set! #1 and 2 are my favorites.
Andrew (snowboarder), great detail and sharpness to the 135 Telyt. I don't own a135 but have the 90 Cron AA and agree with you, they are both amazing lenses.
Ron, nice diagonals!
Charles, stuck in rain? Perfect excuse to shoot some more! Nice set from the airport.

Okay, so of the 50mm Summilux ASPH lenses listed on FM right now which one do you think is the best buy? and if your listing one please be honest, I like "thinkpadfans" 50 but cannot get him to answer pms hes probably busy shooting his new Noctilux.
I am ready to purchase one and would like some eyes with experience with these lenses to help.
Thanks in Advance
Doug

Doug, I'd probably contact a dedicated Leica dealer and put my name on the list for a new one. A $150 savings for a used one is not significant and there is also the warranty to consider in the USA. Leica USA's official line is they don't honor warranty for non-original owners, though maybe the seller will agree to work on your behalf should there be any warranty issues? Maybe Andrew (snowboarder) can chime in here about how long he had to wait for one...

Great series Andrews G., particularly the last few.
Nice one Joe - great clarity to it. Like the M9 in the corner of the frame too.
Charles - have fun in Tainan. I've been there once, though was only passing through on a road trip to Kaohsiung. But the group I was with stopped at a great restaurant where we had some of the best sushi I've ever had (though I have not been to Japan yet for comparison).
Thanks Andrew - funny, I like the first one. The cyan is an effect of the open shade with a somewhat low degree K WB. The Summarit image was contrast boosted a lot because it's a pretty flat lens wide open, which certainly exaggerated the cyan even more. Maybe I'll revisit later and tone it down a bit.

One more with the 50 Lux ASPH.

Ron, you should make that last one a B&W, I bet it would really look good, well it looks great now, but I think that you know what I mean. It would be fine art...

Doug, I concur with Ron, get a new one, it will be on spec for focus and you get the warranty. FYI leica lens warranties are world wide.

I didn't wait. I simply called around and found one dealer who just got it -
he was nice enough to sell it to me instead of calling out his waiting list
I would never wait on any list, I got lucky and got a few impossible to find lenses
in a couple of weeks. Follow all the forums, people sometimes post info
about a lens popping up at some random dealers.
Use now-in-stock dot com, you can get text alerts if a lens shows up at B&H
or Adorama. There are ways to get those lenses and trust me - they are worth it.

I would not ignore the M9 for all its quirks, and if you have the chance I would rent it, or borrow one, and get a feel for it. There is a place for DSLR's, and if the RF style gels with you, the slower more thinking style of taking shots really appeals to you. Of course, with the improvements in the promised M10, I still feel they will not move away from the RF concept.

Charles, I'm not against the concept, I feel I can wait 4 more months and see
what Photokina brings. I'm really happy with those lenses and of course I'd like
to use them on a FF camera, but some like the 135 Telyt are almost impossible
to use on M9 and work amazingly well on NEX-5N

Andrew,

The problem will be getting a M10 after it is announced, you may have to wait quite some time...
