I did have a 28mm 'Cron and the Zeiss seems to have a bit more contrast, but I would have to compare them side by side and the 28 'Cron has gone to a new home now.

Why did you let go the 28Cron? That to me is one of the nicest 28mm around.

Joe,
I found I just don't use the 28mm focal length that much; I prefer 24mm. I also prefer fast glass, so I got the 24mm 'Lux. I picked up the Zeiss for two reasons: 28mm was the only gap I had in focal lengths, and I wanted to try out the Zeiss ZM glass. All things being equal, I think I would prefer the 28mm 'Cron just for the extra stop, but I use 28mm so infrequently that its hard to justify the price relative to the Zeiss 28mm.
Beautiful shots! #1 as to be my favorite, like the composition and details very much but they are all very nice! I'm beginning to catch some Zeiss fever already
On the 40/1.4, it's a very nice lens. It has a bit of soft "glow" wide open, similar to the older non-aspherical Leica lenses such as the 40/2-C and 35/1.4 pre-ASPH. Some like that, some don't. It goes away pretty fast. The bokeh can also be a bit "nervous" or "busy" if you have specular highlights. Again, some like this, some don't. Personally, I like that lens.
Great shots Charles! The waterfall is my favorite.
A very nice portrait Jairy!
There are two M lenses that I find interesting but I don't think I've seen any shots with them here: The 50/0.95 Noctilux-M and the 35/1.4 ASPH Summlux-M. Does anyone have some experience with those?
