Steve, really great B&W set. Your shots make me really want to try to do some street photography.
Charles, very nice portraits - I especially like the one on the previous page.
Ashok, congrats on the Noctilux. There are many Leica lenses that have a really pleasant rendering, but I think the Noctilux is the only one that has really interesting rendering. Looking forward to your shots!
Again? I thought Fred already banned you twice before for trolling in this thread. Third time's the charm? Why not just drop it?
what for? different opinion?
i know though, in sweden freedom of speech is not widely acknowledged. so i do understand your request.

Picking a couple of images that were posted over a year ago in order to post some snide remarks is just trolling. It's not about freedom of speech, it's about not being a dick. You've done this before and it's clear that your purpose is not to provide any form of constructive criticism but simply to be rude. One of your accounts was deleted because of this type of behavior.
As for freedom of speech, this is a private forum where Fred Miranda sets the rules of acceptable conduct. You are quite free to excersise your constitutional rights by starting your own forum where you can decide the code of conduct and be as rude as you like.
Thanks Steve and Luka Luka, I am noticing with the 24 Lux, very subtle rendering in the shadows, at f/1.4, yet not losing any detail, and it shows up with very minor PP'ing. Interesting lens, and a lot to learn!!
Noct .95 - all wide open, except i believe the spiderweb picture.
fingers hurts from carrying it though . i dont put a strap on my m9, but i may need to now.
Thanks Mike, Steve, Charles and Luka. I will try to see how it looks printed out
LL, the bokeh of that lens is really amazing. It is one of the lenses in my wish list together with the 35lux, 24lux that Seekuh just got which Charles wonderfully demonstrated, and the zeiss21/2.8. I hope Santa will see that list
Seekuh...Big Congrats! Charles Gets A Commission From Leica For That!
LL, Nice 0.95 Set! Like The Spiderweb & Purple Wheat Flower Thingy's! Are You Using An ND Filter During Daylight? I Use The B+W 10 Stop. Just Curious! Lets See Some More Please.
Charles, We Just Had A Nor Easter Snowstorm In Boston, So Your Beach Shots Mean Even More To me! Nice!
Edwin, Whats Better Than Those 2 Shots? Nothing! Love Em Both!!!
Edwin, the E60 got traded in with 2000 pounds of Nikon gear for the 0.95.
I do miss it's rendering & wish i could have it back. Im not complaining though! The 50 1.1 Nokt would be Superb for Street at night also!

U sold it ?! Hope u got some good stuff
I got a new lens last week: a Summicron 90 AA.
Today I shot my first images with this lens. So far my impression is, that the Summicron 90 has a nice rendering, similar to the Zeiss 100 MP, with often smooth but in some situations slightly nervous bokeh.
It is very sharp stoped down to f/5.6 but a bit soft wide open. At f/2.0 the sharpness and contrast is comparable to the Canon 85L at f/1.2 and significantly softer than the Zeiss 100 MP at f/2.0, at least at distances around 1-5 m. Focus is not easy with this lens, even with a 1.4x magnifier.
And nearly all images shot handheld with exposure times between 1/90sec. and 1/180sec. were unsharp due to camera shake, all images shot at 1/500 sec. were sharp (and of course all images shot from a tripod).
Here are my first test shots from today (all with M9 and at f/2.0):

Boris, nice shots, but your experience gives credence to the theory that your rangefinder is not aligned correctly.
The 90 Cron AA is on average sharper than the 100 MP at max aperture. This is what you should expect (black=zeiss, red = leica):
My own experience of the 90 AA & 100 MP is that they're very similar wide open with the 90 Cron being a bit better in terms of raw optical performance. (The MP has the advantage of close focus of course).
Anyway, get the camera calibrated and you'll discover how good these Leica lenses are wide open.
My focus test with my M9 and the 90 showed no error (contrary to the test with the 35 and 50 Lux), at all distances. If the Summicron 90 should be equal or better than the 100 MP wide open, then either my 100 MP is exceptional good or my 90 is not correctly adjusted.
