G'day guys.
My first post here since getting my M9 and 50/1.4 a couple of months ago.
Some great images and excellent info among the posts.
Thought i would post a few of a recent work trip to
Ho Chi Minh..
Hope you like them feel free to fire away!!
Cheers
Seeing all these different street photographs from around the world is really inspiring... Can't wait to get out and shoot more once I'm not working seven days a week! I'll post a few shots later tonight though!
To anyone using the CV35/1.2 II (especially on an m8) has anyone had an issue with focus shift when shot at f1.2? Everything I've seen and heard about this new lens seems great, but I haven't heard much about whether or not this lens experiences any focus shift and for me that could be a real dealbreaker.
Joe, great set My favorite is #2 with the shadows.
A couple of castle images from Croatia. I have a fondness for castles in general and specifically for castle ruins. So I had planned to visit a bunch of them. I did but my plans for photography and exploration of the sites was foiled by every single one of them was being restored and closed to the public, poor timing in terms of light and meteorological conditions as well as a general lack of inspiration on my part. So I dutifully took a couple of shots on each site, but little more.

Brody, no lenses exhibit focus shift wide open. But some (many) can be soft wide open. It's as you stop down that with some lenses, the plane of focus will shift. As Ryan has indicated, the 35 f/1.2 does not have focus shift... at least I haven't noticed any (but have not tested for it). I would trust Ryan's assessment of it.
Luka, nice set. It's like a landscape painting tour of castles, but in photos.
Joe, cool set, very much like the hair in the face.
Beautiful work, denoir. Very crisp images. Do you also own a 21 mm lens? Are you happy with the SE 18? Contemplate buying the 21 SE as soon as it is available.

I wanted to see how the flare shots come out..
one of the plant shot was at f2 and rest was at f22 (I think). with m8.2
Do you have a filter on the lens? I've shot it with 640 W/s strobes in the frame pointing at the lens in the background and have not had such severe flare, though I'm sure at certain angles it will flare (which I have seen, though not frequently). From my experience, most lenses flare more with strong light just outside the frame. Definitely the case with the ZM50 Planar.
Charles, great portraits. I particularly like the second one.

No, but I also don't have the SE 18. I'm using a Zeiss ZM 18/4 Distagon. I'm however also contemplating getting the SE 21 but I think I like the ZM 18 too much.

A couple of assorted shots. If they look somewhat overprocessed it's probably because they are. I got a wacom intuos4 tablet today so I've been playing around with it...
