Well I did it.......sold the nikon bag. Everything..... I am jumping in with both feet. 35 Lux version 2 should be here next month and then its M9 time. Then order the 50mm 1.4 and another 6 month waiting list. So worth it though. I really want to thank everyone on this thread. Your work daily blows me away and has helped me get where I am now.
Cheers,
Tobin
not too long ago i did the same...i was a canon user though

Congrats Tobin! You won't be disappointed
I did it too....Nikon is long gone and haven't missed it once in 8 months .....ok, I actually do miss the ZF 100 and Nikon 24 f/1.4....though the 50 Lux is making me forget about everything else right now

Thanks guys!! This helps. The nikon kit was great but it does't make m hear flutter like a Leica.
I've hardly used my 5D since I got my M8. Can't sell off my Canon gear though because my wife uses them for her photo biz. Otherwise I'd sell it all and use the $ to buy more Leica stuff.
Here's one from today "first time getting her teeth brushed" M8 + 35/2 v4 'cron.
Rya nice set. My favorite is second shot with the yellow flowers. The B/W rose is also nice. I'm kind of uncertain about what I think about the 50 Lux ASPH bokeh. It can be painterly, but a bit on the tame side.

Congrats Tobin!! You have joined the dark side
+1, congrats However, Nikon is usually refered to as the "dark side", so he's actually leaving the dark side for what? The financially destitute side?

You know, there's a solution for the first problem... it's called the 90 Cron AA
Thanks Luka - I agree about the bokeh....though I do think most of that has to do with the background distance from the object and the elements & lighting that make up the background. I have some examples with the 50 Lux where the background was about 3 - 5 ft away and all you have are globs in the background. Then you have shots like the one below that I think has far more character to the bokeh without going nuts - I guess you could say this is close to what I call 'painterly'
Alos, amazing shots! Can't decide between #1 & #4. The color & clarity is unreal
Ryan and Luka, thanks
Gregory, nice shots! Fun day, and very interesting to see flash with the M9 too!! Love the first shot.
Ryan, beautiful dreamy set of shots.... the 50 Lux working its magic
Luka, superb set of shots!! Beautiful lighting too! My favourites are #2, 4 and 3. What PP'ing did you use for the last two shots? The colours have incredible depth and detail! #4 looks like a painting!
