Thanks Joe I am really liking this lens. I also learning to PP differently with each lens in combo with the M9. The lenses have very different rendering effects, and to get the most from the M9 files.

No I have sold the ZM 35/2 as I felt it was not what I expected of the zeiss lineup. The ZM 35/2.8 is meant to be excellent. So the only lens I have now is the 35 Cron Asph.
Some reprocessed shots with the 35 Cron Asph. Still learning
Nice photos, the first one is my favourite and the 35 Cron is really a great lens.
Just thought I would test the ZM 25/2.8 and Leica 28/2.8 Elmarit as a travel portrait lens. Same model, still with a smile
The first two are the ZM 25, included the B&W for comparison. The second two, 3 & 4, are with the 28 Elmarit. I like the ZM 25, and even though it is wider the MFD is 0.5m.
Yes it is interesting. As a single WA lens to carry, the ZM 25/2.8 is excellent, as you have a MFD of 0.5m as compared to 0.7 with the 28 Elmarit. So your FOV near MFD is similar.
Yes, Charles interesting comparison. Both seems to have great contrast on the B&W. I can't really tell the difference, maybe its my crappy monitor
Both are excellent lenses, I think it depends if you are comfortable framing with the 25 FOV on the M9? I wear glasses and with a 25mm FOV on the M8, I need to shift around to see all of the framelines which detracts a little for me. I'm not sure about the 0.5MFD on the ZM 25. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I read somewhere that although you can focus till 0.5m on the lens, its more for the Zeiss Ikon but too close to the sensor for the Leica RF?
Charles, if you want to consider a single WA lens in te 25-28mm range to carry, you should check out the 28Cron. Great lens and f/2 helps with background separation if that's your cup of tea
Yes, Joe you could be right about the MFD of 0.5m with the ZM 25. The 28 Cron would be a great lens, and I do like narrow DOF's, but the 28 Elmarit is an incredibly small and light lens. For narrow DOF, I have the 50 Lux Asph, so I think this is the limit of my budget for now
Charles, yes the 28 Elmarit size is a big plus and the price is right (comparably) for a Leica glass..
Alright, with the recent talk of street photography and frontal assault, I decided to stay away from trouble this week M8 35 Cron IV. It seems to be a nice all-rounder lens for the M8, at least for me.
Thanks Charles Its fun hanging around the forums, learning and sharing ... a year back I was still using a Canon P&S, so every time I pick up the camera now, its a learning experience and I'm enjoying it very much ...
