Malkovic, nice set from Dortmund. The cathedral shot is my favorite. You might want to clone out some of the dust?
Charles, very nice street shots with the 50Lux! I like framing on #4 best and also the last shot where you we caught. Nice B&W. BTW, we're right in the middle of summer over here and the water is struggling to reach 20deg C
Najibs. the 50Cron is a great classic lens, some love it for its classic Double Gauss look, not the most modern look though but still excellent, plus its relatively compact. Pricing wise, I think that is how the Leica market has been recently, rising prices and demand far outstripping supply. I also agree with Ron, the ZM50 Planar might be a good option if you want to save some $$. I believe our forum member Ryan (rsoti13) has a great copy for sale (if its still available).
Ron, super set!! Love them all! Wow! #1, 6, 7 & 8 are my favorites. 7 & 8 brings back memories of another "sports" M shooter, Garry Winnogrand's picture at a UT football game in Austin TX. You should definitely take the M9 with you for these assignments (but make sure its insured from knocks? ) BTW, where can I sign up for your M9 color pp tutorials?
Ryan, excellent set! #1, 2 and 3 are my favorites. Really like the composition on #1.
You guys are killing it on this thread. The CFL images make me want to shoot sports again. Perhaps I'll get a pass do some side line work with the 12mm. Inspiring imges thanks for that.
Awsome work shown by all.
Some one asked if the stampede was pretty wild. The answer is yes for some.
Me I was busy working and shooting. I had "almost" no fun at all.
Greg - you captured the party atmosphere of the Stampede very well. Those pics pretty much sum it up! Gotta love the Stampede beer tub girls. I sure miss home....
Gregory - thanks! I have yet to be to Calgary, let alone the Stampede. It looks like a cowboy version of Oktoberfest with horses. Great set as always! Nice catch with the guy 'on the run.'
Joe - M9 was always on me in my Newswear chestvest to keep if from bumping around against stuff. That was a concern. I even modified the vest so that the main pouches were positioned to one side so that the camera I always keep around my neck for near action wouldn't bounce against it. Realistically though, I'm not sure how much I'll use the M at sports events. With the 15 though, or even the 21, it makes a nice zone/hyperfocal 'point and shoot', though an expensive one
As for PP... I don't think I did really anything out of the ordinary. I didn't touch the saturation at all for any of these, other than pulling back a touch on orange and yellows. One thing I do somewhat often, including these and the cemetery photos, is pull back the blue luminosity slider to darken the sky. I think I mentioned this many, many months ago. It's my poor man's polarizer, though you have to be careful with it as it will eventually look chunky and any areas with trees/leaves/out of focus transitions can develop strange edges. For the 15mm middle of the stadium huddle shots, I exposed for the sky, essentially full sun exposure, which resulted in a very dark foreground which I then opened with +EC using the brush tool in LR.
I noticed something new for the first time with these portraits: skin tone color moire! Maybe I should look into C1...
The first was from image #2 on the previous page, ZM50P at f/2.8. The second image is from one I didn't post here, with the ZM35C at f/5.6.
Ryan, great work again with the 90. Nice to see some 50 Planar as well. So you're selling it?
Charles, fun street shots. Looks like you were spotted by the ipod/iphone guy in #2 as well.
Went back to where i grew up over the weekend....Daytona Beach, FL. We weren't planning on going down to the beach area and I wasn't planning on taking pics....but we did and I did . Glad the tripod is always in the trunk.
All with the ZM 25 Biogon (which is gone with the ZM 50 Planar - new toy on the way )
Ron, thanks for the tips on the blue luminosity channel, I guess I missed it the first time round. Will give it a try
Charles, nice beach shots.
Ryan, another nice set with the 90 M Elmar. I like #3 & 4 best.
Edit, Ryan I like the Daytona FL shots as well! Really nice night scenes. I guess we both posted at about the same time and I missed these first time round.
as always, lovely shots Charles.
Ryan - wow - amazing pics! Yes, pls don't let us wait too long for the news of your new lens? 21 SEM? 28 Cron? 35 FLE?
Charles - excellent portrait in #1! The pp is absolutely perfect for that shot. The fabric on the clothes look great.
Wozza - nice set, #2 and #3 look great!
I finally caved in and bought a 50 Lux ASPH. Surprisingly, it only took 4 days from getting on a 'waiting list' . Hopefully I will get some time with it this afternoon. Heat wave be damned! And yes, I think the final piece to my kit will be the 21 SEM...once they get that sorted out
