I have not moved completely to the M9 from dslr, they both have their place, also waiting for my c645 to get fixed to add in MF film, but for certain times during the wedding the M9 lends itself very nice
.. getting ready where you dont want to be seen with giant camera as much, and a lot of time with out real fast things going on. If I have the time to take a second to focus right I would prefer to use the M9, and also im only using a 50mm right now, so ther e are time when I would need a different focal length, but all in all I loved using it this past weekend
Thanks Ryan and nice 90 Macro images. I like #2 best.
kl, great portrait.
This will probably be my last set if images for the next weeks, because my M9 and most of my lenses are now in Solms (again shot with M9 and Lux 50 Asph):
Joe, thank you again
Heinz, excellent shots with the Ektar. I love the warm tones in all the shots
Todd, nice wedding shots!!
KL, great portrait of Guiseppe!! Got to love C1
Boris, nice shots Wishing you a speedy return of your gear!
thedigitalbean, cute shot!!
Thx Ron! I like the last 2 very much!
Charles, lovely shot, bud! Digitalbean, very cute shot!
Tx Ryan, those are lovely shots! I almost bought the macro elmar for it's size and sharpness - my friend swears by it for his trips as he can get his 3-lens travel kit down to a very light weight and still have coverage from 24, 35 to 90.
Boris, interesting composition, I like #2 best.
Digitalbean, nice cute shot!
Ryan, more nice shots with the 90 M Elmar.
Charles, nice beach shot with the 28Cron!
Ron, more excellent shots from your cemetery series! #4 and the last 2 shots are my favorites, really nice.
To quote Churchill, "The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is." The "truth" is I missed focus on that shot!
Ron - nice cemetery shots. Really like #4 and the last one. Your series inspired me to go looking around a local cemetery yesterday
Joe - love the Truth shot. Its clear that its not in focus but I think it looks great as is. Sometimes with these ASPH lenses too perfectly focused ruins the image.....
Charles - great beach shots. I'm jealous of your surroundings. I like the B/W best
A few more 90 Macro shots....I am enjoying this lens so much I ordered the macro adapter yesterday for 1:3 magnification
Hey guys. I'm back from the states, severely jet lagged.
It was a great trip and I have tons of photos from the ten national parks I visted. Right now I couldn't stand seeing another scenic vista for at least a while
As I process the photos I'll be posting them in a separate thread (I havn't really decided how to best go about doing it).
Anyway, unexpectedly I got a few hours in San Francisco on the last day of the trip and I picked and processed a few shots on the plane. Initially I thought I wouldn't bother taking any shots in SF as there wasn't much time and I did not see the point of taking the usual tourist snaps from the usual tourist spots.
I realized however that it was actually an interesting photographic challange and a refershing change from the nature photography I had been doing for the past three weeks. It's really interesting to go to a spot that has been photographed a gazillion times and to try and work out something original.
I took a short walk on the Embarcadero so all these photos are from that area and a majority of them involve the Bay bridge:
Joe, great photo from MOMA with the guard and nice catch with "truth"
Morfeus, I like the second architecture photo with the M2
Ryan, you're really making good use of that 90 macro lens
Charles, very good photos again with the 28 cron, the previous b&w from the beach is a favourite.
Ron, great cemetery set where I like #2 and #4 the most. But I totally missed your photos a few pages back from a park/neighbors yard where I really like the one with a tree and a bench. What lens was that taken with?
Luka, welcome back. Nice photos from SF and I am looking forward to see more from your trip.
